Re: DTH VDM signs a new deal
DTH van der Merwe has signed a new two year contract with Glasgow Warriors.
DTH told glasgowwarriors.org: “This was a pretty easy decision for me and I’m very happy to have signed the deal.
“The direction the squad is heading played a big factor in my decision to stay in Glasgow not just the guys who are playing here already but the guys who want to come and play their rugby here too. It’s pretty exciting.
“I’ve been lucky enough to play in a couple of semi-finals with this club and it would be great to take it that one step further on. This squad definitely has the potential to win some silverware.
“I’m very grateful to the club for giving me the opportunity to play professionally and now Gregor has come in and I’ve been lucky enough to get a few tries. They’re team tries though, I just happen to be the guy that’s the last one to receive the ball.
“I’m just real excited about where this team is going. We’re a young team but there’s a lot of talent and experience despite it being a pretty young squad so if we keep the group together, that’s going to be great for the club in the long-term.”

Great news! him Kellock and Cusack are key players and i'm glad they have signed new deals, the club really is buzzing.
I hope thew win the rabo, last year they were very close to Leinster away and this year the squad is stronger.

Glanced at this and thought it said "Darth Vader signs new deal". Thought Glasgow would have been using him a bit more in the centres than they have, a master of the choke tackle, him

Oh hell yes.
Just the sort of reassurance the squad need during a potentially nervy run-in to the play-offs!

No way, Schiz - this is the video we should all be watching:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsNn4_TFmow
The guy is incredibly important to the club - a bit of a Stortoni legend now.
Two more tries and he breaks Thom Evans record. That video should remind us how strong he is defensively and how often he helps win the ball in turnovers.
The great thing at the moment is the quality that we're re-signing: Al Kellock, Pat MacArthur, Tom Ryder, Mike Cusack, Tommy Seymour and Peter Murchie this season alone.

Great news for Glasgow, I honestly expected him to move on given his tone and body language in his Alba interview earlier in the season. I haven't be that wrong since accidentally walking into a Stavangar gay bar in uniform.

The dangers of not being able to speak or read the local lingo. Lesson being: never then simply go to the place playing the loudest music.

Things just get better for Glasgow.
Maybe we'll resign Mike Penn or Ben Atiga to compensate.
