After that I'm going to have to retire temporarily from the boards in shame. FFS.....

All aboard the Fury hype train...... (leaves to go cry into his pint)

To make this a proper thread/topic, where the **** does Price go from here??

I reckon Price has a lot to offer. A dedicated professional boxer and a credit to his sport. He will come back stronger and pass on his knowledge to youngsters making their way up. He'd be a great trainer.

Az got his prediction wrong.

'As it is, I feel sorry for Price as he will ko a fat semi retired fighter'.

Az predicted Price would win by KO and AZ was wrong (as usual).

Yep. I was wrong there. I thought Thompson had zero left. But his zero was still too much for Price.

Maybe they should give Audley a shot at redemption and confidence booster?

Let's all show love for Audley!

To be honest questions have now been answered of Price which we are still to find out about Fury, would still put money on a Price KO but a title shot is a long long way away now.

I've said for ages Chisora is too much for Price. Chisora would pressure price and really test his chin.

What about Thompson, where does he go?

Do we think Fury will fight Thompson!

Only kidding about Audley, he's long finished at anywhere near top level but if he wins the Prizefighter in about about 30 mins I can imagine he'll get one more big pay day from someone!

Not sure about that, Ghosty. Fury took some decent leather from Chisora and, while he looked a little panicked and uncomfortable, he stood up to them. Also, while Pajkic isn't exactly a big hitter, he did catch Fury right on the button with a hard, short right (certainly a more dangerous looking shot than the one which just took out Price). Fury went down, of course, but recovered pretty well.

If we're talking about punch resistance, I think it's clutching at straws to suggest that Fury has more of a case to answer to than Price, to be honest. I do think it's important to make sure we don't draw lines between the pair for every little thing which happens to either of them, but in this case it is starting to look very much as if Fury has the edge when it comes to ability to take a shot.

Well No-Mas we still don't know how Fury will react to a blow from someone who can actually punch, Thompson is no heavy hitter but he hits harder than the likes or Johnson and Firtha.

We now know that Price has ability but fairly poor punch resistance while Fury has very little ability and questionable punch resistance.

Fury has been wobbled by non-punchers so I don't think it's beyond the realms to suggest he too would be knocked out by Thompson, not that it matters because neither are winning a world title any time soon.

My questions were how was his punch resistance and how would he react when hit. All answered. The answer is not very well. Let him rematch Audley.

I haven't seen the fight but it seems Price's chin was finally exposed (as Az said it would be).

The Chink in the Armour is now public knowledge and undeniable.

Now every heavyweight, in the knowledge they possess concussive fists, will enter a fight against Price with renewed hope and belief.

The mental element, required for success, has been strengthened for every future Price opponent (without them doing anything).

Call it the Khan effect. Everyone and their Dad knows he's chinny and all now force the issue against him. Belief grows knowing that one punch could be worth millons. Same with Price. One punch can be worth an extra tenner.

To be honest this isn't that much of a shock. Thompson (in the first fight) gave Wlad one of his hardest fights ever where the big Ukranian had to actually deploy other punches for a change. eg. body punches, uppercuts and the use of his underused but excellent left hook (Wlad's left hook is a devastating punch, harder than the more renowned straight right).

To be honest, Thompson would be a big step up for Fury and it would be interesting to see Fury take on Thompson after he disposes of his next tin can.

Tin can? Cuningham is a great match up. Fast, experienced who will pose problems for a slow fighter which Fury is. One thing Fury has is great timing and he should deploy it against Cunny to score a mid round KO. He will also beat TT with relative ease.

Cunningham is a cruiseweight and a bit of an up and down one at that. Fury is still in the carefully matched category. Until he fights someone decent he's still a prospect with a lot of questions to answer.

Is Haye still a cruiser? Carefully matched category? He signed for Chisora who was considered good enough to fight Wlad. Undefeated and going places. That was a huge risk. Not his fault Del came is fat and formless. He also took on Kingpin who is a better opponent that a fat 41 year old Thompson.

Lets not put down Fury. He is Britain's best hope of lifting the big one. Support him.

They're both distinctly average (Price and Fury) and I'm not saying this, jumping on the bandwagon because David got knocked out, I just didn't see the fuss in either of them, not a fight I was particularly enthusiastic about.

Vitali won a 119-111 fight against Chisroa. I wouldn't call that a hard fight.

Fury is just as average as Price and he will get Ko'd as soon as he steps up.

After the Klitschko's there's nothing out there. Fury and the rest will hope no good prospect comes along before the brothers retire. Its a waiting game.

People who said Prices chin is china were right. There's no point in revisionism and running the lad down as if he was always David 'HALF' Price. He was being hyped up by many as a future Klitschko beater.

A guy who can't take a shot like Thompsons hit him with is going nowhere in heavyweight boxing.
