Buncey gets this a lot.

I shared a cab with him on the way to the Haye Vs Valuev fight. As soon as we got out near the stadium and he got recognised, the abuse was flying in.

We had to jog it to the stadium Smile

Since joining BoxNation he has become a Warren puppet, but he is a genuinely nice chap. Wouldn't let me pay for the cab fare either.

When it comes to his abilities / style as a boxing analyst, I've made it clear enough in the past that I'm no fan of Bunce.

Having said that, I don't see the problem with his reaction here in the slightest. I don't like this attitude some have of goading a public figure and doing all they can to get some kind of reaction from them, and then making a big fuss of it once the inevitable reaction comes. I actually think ol' Buncey handled it pretty well and, while it was maybe mildy amusing in some regards, to suggest that Bunce was put out by it, or shown up, is a bit off base for me.

Some clown rings up and, without provocation, calls Bunce the c word. Sorry, was Bunce meant to just smile and say, "Alright, thanks for calling, fella" or something?

I used to chat with Buncey a bit on another forum. I thought he was pretty decent and he would debate with people cordially. The abuse got too much though and he left.

The Box Nation PR must stick in his throat but a man has to eat.

He published a novel called The Fixer a few years ago, I haven't read it.

I've always thought that Steve Bunce sounds like Chris Rabbit from Henry's Cat.

The "I'll call you back" threat didn't really work in Bunce's voice either.

Call me old fashioned but I'd just like to say I think Steve Bunce is a...............

I remember someone once calling up Capital Gold years ago when Johnathon Pearce used to do a call in and calling Bobby Moore the same.

Made me laugh then when I was about 16 and still makes me laugh now I'm 38.
