Like Jerry Maguire, Frank has lost all his big clients bar 1. He has his frumpy but loveable (not by me) assistant Buncey by his side ready to follow him into bankruptcy. I gsuppose Clev is Ron Tidwell, only instead of being truckulent and too proud, he is fairly pleasant and has less pride. I can now see Frank's strategy clearly:

More personal attention
Less clients
Less money

Watch him rise to the top with a series of heartfelt Clev moments. He'll hug him on camera after he sees him narrowly escape with a title fight victory against a sock maker, then stand on the sidelines in heartfelt worry when Clev is put down by a heavy handed hair stylist, only to marvel at his recovery when Clev rises from the canvas and tickles said stylist to his knees. This could be Frank's master stroke. Marvel at his greatness.
