If I'm honest, I kinda agree with Zidanes. United will want another long term fixture. Mourinho burns his bridges everywhere after a while

Anyway the Directors of FC No Respek offer to step in and top your starting budget up to £12m.
Well I'd like to thank the Directors of FC No Respek for their frankly insulting gesture of an additional £0.8m Laugh

As your initial starting pot was £6.5m, they work this out as an additional £5.5m to be added. They would also like to invest, on your behalf, in a new calculator so you don't have to use the one that Bull must have left behind.

Moyes for Man United!!

Your right there Nando, hip replacement probably helped make the decision.

Rumour going round is Fergies replacement will be announced in few days, ready to be at Old Trafford on sunday, but he has to quit his current club.....

Well we have virtually nothing to play for now, with a gap above and below us.

It also would rule out Klopp with the CL final coming up.

But tbh, I can't see the rumour being true. They will wait until the end of the season.

Martinez is favourite, but Periera has been invited over a couple of times and Kenwright is a fan apparantly. Pedigree of the previous Porto bosses isn't bad either

I would be very surprised if it wasn't Moyes tbh

The vibe coming out of the club for the last week or so was that he had something already in the pipeline, and that we were planning for his replacement.

Now all the rumours also seem to fit in with him joining United.

And I would push for MacKay as the replacement. We might take a step back for a year or so, but seems to be in a similar mould to Moyes.

Sent my votes again Affers.

If I was United, I'd get Klopp as manager, Lewandowski, Gundogan and Reus in as well, give Dortmund £100m for the four, and recoup £30m of that through selling Rooney.

Then sell Hernandez for £20m to Atletico Madrid, sell Nani and Valencia for a combined £20m, leaving me with a net spend of just £30m.

I've come to the conclusion its a foregone conclusion and I'm more worried about us keeping our best players, and who we replace Moyes with. He's 1/3 with the bookies now

Mackay or Pereira for me. not Martinez (or Lennon as I have just seen mentioned Shocked)

Moyes would be ideal. Bar the limited European competition experience hes fits the bill for Man United ethos.
Promotes youth, hes shown he can work with a budget, good in the transfer market, his team plays good football & he can be long term too.

Its going to hard for any manager though. No one will get 5 years without a trophy like SAF got when he started. Id say two seasons tops without & third season would be a defining year if they went that long without a trophy.
Worrying times.

What 'ethos' is that exactly? The 'ethos' is winning, ergo improve the team this summer.

Klopp = manager who likes football played the Fergie way
Lewandowski = top class striker
Reus = top class AM/winger far superior to Nani and Valencia (and Young and Kagawa)
Gundogan = top class DM you've missed since Keane

Rooney is tired and doesn't fit the formation any more, you should definitely sell him.

Just throwing new players in and changing the team doesn't work. Those players have done well in Germany, you don't know for sure they'll do well at United. I'd sooner see Cleverley, Welbeck, Valencia in my team right now. If we were to sign one, fair enough. Look at Kagawa. He was amazing at Dortmund, has had a decent season but not been incredible. It takes time to adapt to a new league.

It's not like one of these manager games when you can chuck 11 in and we're looking at the strongest line up in theory. It is real life.

35% - Of teams he faced more than 10 times, Sir Alex Ferguson's highest loss percentage as Man Utd manager was v Norwich City (35%). Shock.

And in real life, Cleverley, Nani and Valencia have all had terrible seasons from a 'success ethos' point of view. When players are no longer good enough you get rid and buy better ones. Cleverley and Welbeck you keep, but those Dortmund players would ensure that you keep ahead of City and their rumoured Cavani / Falcao purchases.

Cleverley has his best years ahead of him, as does Welbeck. Giving them both football will improve them, rather than stunting their growth by buying a load of foreigners. Other than Robin Van Persie, when was the last time they signed a true superstar.

Exactly. Look at City, they tried to strengthen the squad with lesser players and failed spectacularly. They won't make the same mistake again, so United need to step their game up. Chelsea and Spurs will be buying big this summer as well, Barca and Real, PSG, Bayern, Juve - they're all looking to splash out. If United don't clear the dead wood and add 3/4 top quality players, the new manager will be a failure in his first season.

Big money for young players who were not yet at the top class level, Rooney aside and that was 8 (?) years ago.

Lesser players is the wrong way to put it, it's young players who haven't proved themselves at the top level yet and are capable of making the step up. Difference.

The squad is fine IMO. There is some which aren't good enough or not preforming to the standards required. In general the squad is good. Good core of experienced players with good youth too. Look at how many younger lads won their first Premier League winners medal this year. They will want more, its whats installed in them at Man United. A lot of that is Ferguson but im sure that tradition of passion & hunger will continue.
