I know he barely got out of 2nd gear but he still looked awkward going backwards and trying to hit a moving target like Tyson is a bit harder than landing on a pretty static Pianeta, especially as he would have to be so wary of Tyson's speed and power, just a stylistic nightmare for him. Also he likes to spoil on the inside which he would have a harder time with against Tyson as he was rough as you like up close.

You can't judge Klitschko based on that fight. He was in 4th gear yet he knocked the guy down 2 times and then knocked him out in the 5th round. Wlad also looked uninterested and it looked like a sparring session.

I think the Wlad v haye or v chagaev in 2009 was Wlad in his prime and what we should judge him on.

Those fights bring out the worst of the Klitschkos I think. That was awful. The fight was an obvious mismatch but it was so unneccessarily one paced by Wlad. No work to the body. Little punch variation, even just content to use the jab as a range finder. The first time he threw a 3 punch combo he finished the fight. He could have done what he did to Pianeta in the 6th at any time and finished it.

Its been mentioned before that the Klitschkos drag out fights in order to make more money and when you see that kind of fight in particular its easy to believe. Impressive from Santa Cruz, the man is a conveyor belt of punches and throws them nice and sharp throughout and will improve as he gets more experianced

He's a nice guy and has a lot to learn, like how he scarifices power for volume, but he will put bums on seats and is easy to like so will have a good future ahead if him

Not a massive Mares fan. He's just very limited for me. He's bossing this fight, but loses handily to Donaire and Rigo for me. Wouldn't bet against Santa Cruz or Frampton either.

Mares started well but round by round it seems that his punches are making less and less of an impression on De Leon and that De Leon's natural strength and power seems to be coming through. Mares is having to box more and more and that's not his game

Excited for this fight, as a relative boxing newbie it will be the first time seeing PBF live, if he's half as good as Truss says it should be a privilage.
