It was a bit of a nothing fight, pretty much a foregone conclusion so being under 1 million wouldn't surprise me. If he takes on some genuine challenges in a 50/50 fight then he will hit the big numbers again.

He was selling the fight himself similar to manny clottey fight so I expect more than that which was 700,000 so maybe 800

Not really all that surprising, mayweather thinks that people pay PPV because of him, but this shows they don't

Guerrero is a no name, no-one knew him before Berto and Berto had already been beat

Floyd in the past has been able to put fighters like Morales and Canelo on the undercard to really ill it to Mexican-Americans on Mexican Independence Day

Can't see him fighting Khan, Garcia or Alexander next as tey will probably draw just as poor numbers whereas Canelo would do great business

Will be interesting to see Showtimes reaction as reports suggested that they needed 1million buys to turn a profit. They aren't paying Floyd $32mil with a proportion of PPV sale did tey draw figures like this again

Those last two comments were pretty funny

It's takes 2 fighters to make huge PPV numbers. Guerrero was not known in the slightest by anyone outside boxing fans and even then regular fans don't know him.

This may force Floyd to fight bigger names but problem is there isn't many.

The only fights (and I don't agree with some or think possible) to me are the following but can only see 1/2 ever happening:

Cotto 2
JMM
Manny
Canelo
Martinez
Khan (UK PPV buy boost)

I think Floyd's record deal may turn out a few quid less but still crazy!

If true just a pity this did not happen three years ago. Said it at the time but if fans turned away from both Manny and Floyd and stopped buying their PPV’s the fight would have got made in about 30 seconds flat.

He needs to fight me.

Being 5'11, and about forty lbs bigger should make me seem a physical threat, while the fact that I am unbeaten (0-0-0) and hail from "Parts unknown in deep dark Africa" should be a PPV goldmine

As to to the poor PPV numbers it shows Americans are not going to shell out $60-70 for a dud fight.

If only the British were as discerning they would not have bought Haye v Harrison or Haye v Chisora.

Mares brought in 100-200 thousand mexicans.

No he didnt, mares is a good young fighter but he campaign's in the lighter weights where you dont get as much exposure and he has nowhere near as big a following as Canelo or Morales

He probably helped a little but Mares isnt a huge draw yet although will be as he ascends the weights

mayweather needs to move up in weight and fight ward, they could meet somewhere in between

There was some twitter banter between mayweather and ward and ward said that mayweather would be the only guy that would make ward move down in weight to fight. Only 3 weight divisions above, Broner moved up 2 weight divisions so it is not impossible.
