The real number four Empty The real number four

Post by Guest Fri 10 May 2013, 3:36 pm

Hello

Very Happy

Dear minions,

Rafael Nadal plays David Ferrer in Madrid today.

This is it folks.

The final battle to determine the real number four.

If Ferrer should win then he will rightly be number four.

If Rafa wins then we know in reality he is the foith best player in the world.

It will also tell us who is the best player in Spain and the true Spanish number one.

As fate would have it the two Spaniards are meeting in Spain - I wonder who the Spaniards will support Headscratch

So I think it's fair to say that this is probably the biggest match of the year for both players.

Let the best man win.

Looks like Rafa is in the ascendency in this titanic battle for the world number four status. He breaks in the second.

Ferrer has just one good shot - the inside out FH, even that is probably just above average for the tour.

Actually Nadal is the form number 2. This can be seen by his points total in the Race to London...
In fact, the match for the real number four would be between Ferrer and Berdych...

Ah so the rankings are wrong are they? chin interesting theory.

The current form book would suggest that Ferru is rightly number four, ahead of Rafa. What say you to that Oh King, son of Raf?

What form book? Alls Im saying is the Race to London, especially now with only a few tournaments played is a better indicator of form. As well as the fact that Nadal is 28-2 for the season while Ferrer is 30-7.

Yes that is an interesting tidbit but if rankings were decided by the last 2 months of play only then well.. they'd be pretty worthless.

Let us enjoy this tremendous battle to determine the foith best player in the world.

The trouble for Ferrer is his playing at his absolute maximum right now, and still cant put Rafa away. If Nadal takes this set,and then the match, this would probably be more deflating than the Mexico mauling

And the much maligned and disrespected Ferru (see above) breaks back to level at 5-5 in the second.

What will happen next?

There was nothing disrespectful about my last comment. Ferrer is playing at his maximum, I have charts and everything to prove it.

Alas, Ferru has proved himself incapable of challenging for the foith best player in the world position.

In fact one can only conclude after this debacle that Ferru should retire with immediate effect.

Congrats to Rafa the true world number foith player.

Poor David , this is not the first time its happening to him, but life doesn't end with one failure, it ends with multiple failures Very Happy , so Ferrer should keep fighting for his honor and having seen him play I know he is the person of that right attitude.

Failure and success are part and parcel of life its how you cope up with it stands.

Nah... Rafa won't be bothering his head competing for the number two. However Murray should enjoy this position whilst he can as he may soon find himself displaced by the battle for number 1 Cool

Only a battle for a few weeks. I see Federer reversing back past them both at this rate.
