This weekend's action

A few high profile fights this weekend to get our teeth into.

I can't say I'm particularly interested in Purdy v Alexander. I can only see that going one way but I'm hoping Purdy doesn't get humiliated.

Peterson v Matthysse is probably the one I'm looking forward to the most. I give Matthysse the nod here with a KO around the 4th

Anthony Ogogo also fighting on the same card. It looks as though his opponent has lost his last 4 fights so I think we know how this goes...


Cruiserweight Prizefighter doesn't really get me excited but I'll give it a go.


James DeGale fighting tonight in Canada against Sebastian Demers who looks to have plenty of experience but is coming off three losses.

However, most tragic of all this weekend is Shane Mosley coming out of retirement to fight in Cancun (wtf?) against Pablo Cesar Cano. Mosley must be dirt poor to force a comeback, though I doubt he's getting much for a fight in Cancun. Given he lost 3 out of his last 4 and drew 1, he surely can't think he has anything to offer nowadays. A sad sight indeed and he appeared punchy in recent years and this wont do much to help. Hopefully he sees the light after this and doesn't take too bad a beating.

Good fights this weekend but nothin worth sittin up late for (especially when you have a demanding 3 year old kid who wakes up at 6am).

Peterson by robbery, Purdy to get battered, Mosley to tire after round 3 and Cano to humiliate him.

Mosley can't be short of cash after fighting pretty much the biggest draws in boxing outside of the heavyweights. Must have got massive paydays for Oscar twice, Mayweather, Manny, Cotto and Alvarez.

Mosleys wife must have taken him to the cleaners.

He got over $20 million for the Floyd fight alone, if he's broke, he's an idiot.
