Ricky Burns next fight ?

Anyone heard anything about this ? I know Eddie Hearn had been saying an announcement was coming next week.

This is now showing on Boxrec. Haven't seen Beltran fight but his record doesn't strike me as someone who should be challenging for a world title.

He was stopped very early on in his career by a guy 10-12-0, who has since moved to 12-26-0, and has been stopped by Ammeth Diaz who just beat Martin Gethin.

Just looks like an easy fight after Burns was very close to losing last time.

Beltran is promoted by Top Rank I think. Heard the name before

I watched Beltran beat Hank Lundy, who was a hot prospect at the time. He was good. I don't think this is an easy fight as such for Burns. I'd say it's a decent defense, with potential for a slipup. I expect Burns to come through it though. Beltran is a solid top ten LW, but i'd prefer to see Burns against Vasquez (a toss up), DeMarco (who I think he beats), or Abril (who Burns struggles with). Those are the top guys. No one utterly outstanding (like a Ward or a Floyd) to stop Burns potentially being the undisputed LW king for a bit.

Beltran is a tough assignment for Burns. Watched him a few times on HBO.

Sounds a decent enough fight that he should be able to come through before a big new york fight early next year. Better to be ticking over and getting some confidence back after a poor performance last time out (good heart though)

Just looked up Beltran on Boxrec. Not who I thought he was at all, ha. Don't know him from Adam

Beltran is a top 10 ranked fighter in the Ring ratings. A good tough fight for Burns and a chance to make a name for himself in the States

He's got a decent win over Hank Lundy but looks like a well picked fight to me, expect Burns to win comfortably provided he doesn't put in a shift like his last fight.

Can't complain if he's fighting top ten opposition. One of the top 3 would be nice for the next one though.
