If between the manager and current executive vice-chairman of the club you spend the transfer window putting forward idiotic offers for players that either don't want to come to the club or to clubs that don't want to sell and then in the last few hours of the window suddenly realise that midfield may be an area that needs strengthening embarass the club further with last ditch attempts then who are you left with as a midfield option?

Best value comes from our Madrid office. For a mate's wedding, they let me have about 50 Cuban cigars for nothing to stick on the bar. That was an ar$e clenching one going through customs
