Epic Betting Night Ahead Empty Epic Betting Night Ahead

Post by hazharrison Sat 07 Dec 2013, 8:07 am

I'm a keen follower of boxing odds which have grown increasingly stingy with the spread of online betting. Tonight, however, there are a spate of competitive bouts that can generate excellent payouts if you can land the correct parlay.

Malignaggi, Sturm and Lara are all live dogs, while Derry Mathews looked dry at yesterday's weigh in prior to his bout with Steve Ormond (An Ormond, Malignaggi and Lara treble return odds of 19-1). Some are tipping Macklin to be upset by Russ (around 3-1) while Kirkland-Tapia is 50-50 in the betting and Sakio Bika can be backed as a 3-1 outsider against Anthony Dirrell.

If you're keen on a bet - tonight's the night!

HBO

Matthew Macklin vs. Lamar Russ, 10 rounds @ middleweight
James Kirkland vs. Glen Tapia, 10 rounds @ light middleweight
Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Joseph Agbeko, 12 rounds @ super bantamweight

Showtime

Sakio Bika vs. Anthony Dirrell, 12 rounds @ super middleweight
Erislandy Lara vs. Austin Trout, 12 rounds @ light middleweight
Devon Alexander vs. Shawn Porter, 12 rounds @ welterweight
Paul Malignaggi vs. Zabdiel Judah, 12 rounds @ welterweight

There's a good night of boxing on for the night owls.

Even a faded Strum is good value to me at 6/5 given he's fighting at home.

Barker was in a war with Geale.......and had a tough defeat to Martinez..

No telling how worn he could be.......

Macklin is finished............Rigondeux has an easy match......Paulie will stink........Alexander easily........Trout for me and Bika to sneak Dirrell.

Look out for the draw in some of these contests.

Barker and Sturm is a good candidate at 16/1.

Rigo by wide UD or LKO
Direll to outbox Bika to a UD
Lara to beat trout SD
Kirkland EKO
Sturm to beat Barker LKO
Maklin to win LKO
Alexander to decision Porter
Malignaggi to outbox Judah.

trout should win tonight

got a feeling Judah will need a wide points victory just to get a narrow. malignaggi definitely worth a go

dirrell UD is a good bet

sturm has a decent chance, but could really go either way

Very interesting that the perception was that when Canelo beat Trout, Trout was yet again an overrated opponent who only beat a small faded Cotto and when Lara was robbed by Williams he was without a doubt one of the best LMW's out there and people were picking him to beat Canelo. Now its gone from that to, Trout should beat Lara, weird how Boxing goes.

Terrific fights in America and Sturm/Barker could go either way, but picking Barker to win a hard fought decision.

A £40 accumulator for Ormond, Russ, and Malignaggi returns £337 on paddypower, little bit risky but I've gone for it

The mathews one i feel is the risky bet, I like Macklin but i reckon he's shopworn and this young unbeaten guy will be too fresh for him. And it's hard to come to any conclusion bar Paulie UD

Unlucky pal! I took home a Sturm-Malignaggi double but I'm kicking myself I didn't include Ormond and Lara - would have had hundreds!
