Savage v Steamboat WM III Empty Savage v Steamboat WM III

Listening to the Austin Podcast last night and he was interviewing William Regal (a great listen by the way). Austin posed the time honoured question of favourite matches, and brought up Savage/Steamboat. To which Regal's response was along the lines of "I used to really like that match until I found out the truth about it". Austin agreed and moved on without either of them expanding on this.

Anyone know what they're talking about? I wouldn't have thought Regal would be as unprofessional as to make a veiled reference to the Steph rumour.

I mentioned it to him and he said his educated guess is one that isnt that interesting.

As his official spokesman he also releases these messages: "Marrow makes me wet" and "HHH is the wrestling representation of a marrow"

is it maybe because savage and steamboat planned every single punch and hold before hand? I have heard comparisons between savage and steamboat and savage and flair. Fair said his match with steamboat was better as it was played out in the ring rather than rehearsed? I think rehearsed matches don't gain as much respect from the vets as just playing it by ear does.

but I might be miles off of the mark there!

Regal makes it sound as if the match is cursed or something right enough.
