Shaun Porter vs Kel Brook off??

Hi Guys

Has anyone else heard the rumour that the Shaun Porter vs Kel Brook fight is off,

I've heard seen a few rumblings about it and I'd be massively disappointed if it was called off,

Well I suppose Kel could have another final, final, final, final, final, final eliminator to the final eliminator fight.........

Any reason why Tommy. If so the cancellation will have to be from Porter's end, not sure Brook could endure another withdrawal and retain a shred of credibility.

Yeh, was some Twitter chatter last night about this. But Eddie was saying he'd spoken to Porter's lawyers (or was it GBP's?) and that they were holding signed fight contracts.

Maybe they're just trying to build up some interest.....?

Also is Brook not his mandatory? Surely if Porter does not fight him he will be stripped, or do governing bodies not bother with quaint ideas like enforcing their rules any more?

Flicking over Eddie's Twitter it does seem Porter is the one causing problems. GBP have confirmed contracts are signed.

All sorts of rumours doing the rounds. Hearn says that he and Brook have signed and that they’re just waiting to hear back from Golden Boy about a date, while Porter’s team are claiming that it’s Hearn and Brook who are stalling and looking for a way out. Lots of whispers but nothing concrete so far.

One murmur doing the rounds is that Porter has, at the last minute, been offered the Mayweather gig for September (clock is ticking and Floyd still doesn’t have an opponent confirmed) which is why there hasn’t been an official announcement so far.

The IBF would strip him, but why would he care? Probably make 4-5 times as much and not have to pay any sanctioning fees.......

Here is the latest according to ring magazine:
Brook has signed the contract and it has been recieved by GBP Shawn Porter is expected to sign in the next couple of days, the original date of the 9th August has been changed because Golden Boy want Danny Garcia to fight on that date instead but the fight is expected to take place in a couple of months according to Golden Boy

So the fight looks to be on just the dat altered by Goldem Boy

Suspect wheelchair the truth is somewhere between your story and Chris’. Suspect what is happened is GBP have heard rumblings Porter could be on the shortlist for Floyd and so are delaying signing for Brook until they know if that one is happening. Unfortunate for Brook, but you can’t really blame them if so.

Yeah i suspect that is the case but we cant blame Kell for this one its not his fault

I had him on foe, but then I saw other people quoting his childish insults and feminine discharge so I took him off as it was pointless having him on foe when i could see his stuff anyway.

I think that Mayweather is the reason for the confusion...After all Kell like him or not Is a quality opponent and a near 50/50 fight...

Porter would certainly be open to better offers..

Kell though looks a bit Michael Watson-esque...Why win a fight the easy way when you can struggle instead !!..

As he's unbeaten, he can't be classed as a "loser" but "underachiever" I have no qualms with (although the caveat is that it's not ALL Kell's fault)

If you don't have any qualms..
