Should've saved up for James Rodriguez. His values shot up higher than an entire Iturbe.

Still about 20m shy of his transfer fee mind. Might not bode well for those bought because they just moved for a big fee.

TM doesn't always seem to follow the transfer fee. I remember they didn't with Modric.

Does seem a bit illogical though, coz what better indication of market value than what someone just paid for them

Don't get me wrong, I am more than happy with Vilhena.

It wasn't all my idea but I had Vilhena in one of the previous leagues so I do know about him.

Thanks GSC for the budget stuff. I will update accordingly.

Could argue clubs like Real, Barca, United etc all have to pay above market value as clubs know they have money.

I know what you're saying, although you could then argue that those players are therefore being sold in a different market.

It is subjective, but market value has to essentially be the amount that someone is prepared to pay for them? And that is best reflected by what someone has just paid for them.

Apart from Ross McCormack of course, as Fulham would never be able to sell him for £11m

Vidal to United? He's coming back from  holiday on Saturday so hopefully we can get things moving.

Have you heard anything new on the Vidal situation @ Hero?

Really? That's a bit surprising considering they've just signed Rodriguez and Kroos. I haven't seen anything myself, which  Spanish  media outlet is spreading these stories?

I'll ask them now, althougn I suspect it is La Marca as that is the only reliable paper on Real Madrid, but is very close to the club and is normally very accurate

I must admit Real are the best when it comes to players they want, no messing around from them they do their business and the player is theirs.

I'll be really disappointed if United don't get Vidal especially as Kroos and Fabregas have moved this Summer and we didn't even bother with them.

They have space since Khedira/Casemiro/Isco (potentially) heading out

For me if he gets and I think he will a top 4 position it will be a successful season. Times have changed United are not going to dominate anymore and I can accept that but I hope we're still challenging and winning obviously we won't be winning as much as the Sir Alex era.

More important then winning right now is for Van Gaal too get the foundations right for our next manager (Giggs)  who I reckon will be in for the long haul. If we can get our base right, with the youth players coming in aswell as the big names the stability is what we need and that's what I want in he's three years can't see him staying beyond that.
