Macklins WBC eliminator fight is off due to Jamie Moore being shot.

Seems a bit excessive given his opponent wasn't much of a standard. Maybe Hearn realised he had massively underestimated the demand for the show and was happy enough to pull it and do it again at a later date in a bigger venue.

Macklin probably could have brought in someone to get him through the next fight. He was up against a nobody. Maybe Hearns brother in law Tony Sims.

Hearn might have been happy enough just to cancel the show and reschedule it later at a much bigger venue and make more money. The venue he booked originally was much smaller than the demand.

According to reports this was a sell out so ticket sales don't appear to be the reason.
