What did the Scots ever do for us?

The Scots. What would we do without them? Well for a start we wouldn't be forced to torture ourselves on a regular basis as per the following.

So I find myself asking. Have the Scots actually managed to create a game of such devilish difficulty that they should all be murdered? Well... Most of them should be murdered anyway as it would lower my taxes but that's not the point here.

The problem is that then I find myself asking do the Scots really deserve it? (For golf I mean. There are lots of other reasons but forgetting those for the moment.) And I find myself asking probably not.

There are lots of statements about golf being laid down in the modern form in Scotland etc etc... but that's not really where it came from. There is lots of evidence laying around which suggest the Dutch might be responsible. Or possibly the French. And Dutchman might as well be Frenchmen in most cases mainly due to Belgium. So I say blame them and invade Europe. And murder the Scots for something more appropriate. Like deep fried mars bars or something.

The difference is that Scottish people know their team is rubbish, the English delude themselves that they are a respected force who will win every tournament they enter despite the fact there are alway at least half a dozen teams who would knock them into a cocked hat.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Scots invented and developed gowf.

What really peas me off is the assumption by 99% of the worlds golfers that St Andrews is the home of golf.

Leith Links, Perth North Inch and Mussleburgh[ Scots spelling], all have far greater claims.

Are you suggesting the Space Shuttle was steam powered? (which was invented by an Englishman BTW - only improved by Watt)

More eluding to the fact that space travel may never have happened without the industrial revolution, which Watt made a few contributions. Was only really kidding, just thought it was an awesome picture.
