Wasps v Leinster

First topic message reminder :

As Wasps are now fairly accessible for us I have just booked tickets for my son and me for the big European clash against Leinster. From what I can make out tickets seem to be selling fast with only space in the corners and ends now available. Are any fellow 606ers going along? Also, does anyone know if Leinster have a big travelling support like Munster? I'm guessing that they will be well supported as most Irish teams seem to be. Looking forward to a cracking match - hopefully with a great atmosphere too.

I think Madigan is going to be exceptional at 12 next year for Leinster when Sexton returns at 10.

Hope Boss doesnt slow this game down too much.

Hes really peaking at the right time as well. Last few games have been good from him.

For Leinster to only be 14 points ahead at half-time is very disappointing given their dominance.

Every time I doubt Leinster they do this. Losing BOD, O'Brien and Healy and still very strong.

I think he's a poor ref - certainly inconsistent around the mauls - pinged Gaskell earlier when it looked to me like he came through the middle then let Leinster go around the side later in a similar position ... not saying Leinster don't deserve the lead but just that Garces is not great generally.

Just seen the tackle on Kearney in the air. As others have said, if Ulster last year was a red, then hard to know why that was just a yellow.

Wasps are surely going to lodge a complaint against the ref. I'm no wasps fan but he has well and truely shafted them.

Madigans kicking has been poor today.

Nice to see the street smarts from Moore there. He has to be starting for Ireland

didnt see the first yellow from johnson but sounds like it should have been a red by garces's standards.

Well he penalised Leinster for the same offense right before so at least he is consistent.

But Hughes clearly stopped Fitz from making the tackle? The Haskell not rolling away one was a shocker from Garces though.

BOD was wrong. The Wasps forward was in front of Varndell.

As I said before - this ref is poor (putting it mildly)

Ref is poor alright. Thought he got the obstruction call right though.

Shocking refing at the lineout. Half the wasps players were offside. It's just a free for all.

How can Garces see that?

he was not in front of varndell therefore it is impossible to be offside. its in the laws.

Remind me how long are you allowed to play the ball on the ground? This ref it totally incompetent

Ref has been appalling for both sides but I think overall Wasps have ended up losing out the most - but that probably depends on your point of view.

It is however obstruction of the tackler quins

if he is not in front, there is no requirement for the wasps player to allow a clear path to varndell. obstruction involves accidental contact or an advantage conferred by a player in front of the ball carrier.

The yellow/red discussion is always a tricky one and you see them going both ways - I really hope he doesn't get any 6N games ...

yes i think thats right. wasps have better head to head w harlequins so would prob qualify as runner up. as long as leics dont get 5points vs ulster. unlikely i think.

No it doesn't Quins obstruction as defined by the laws.
Blocking the tackler. A player must not voluntarily move or stand in a position that prevents an opponent from tackling a ball-carrier

madigan should have stuck to his normal routine there. bet he would have slotted it.
