Halai for Wasps. Not sure Ryder is a permanent signing for Saints. McKibbin is from Waratahs. And Low to Bath is a rumour and probably won't happen anyway.

Pretty satisfying reading as an LI fan although I think Low to Bath is speculation, sounds like he's more likely to be off to Scotland. Happy to be corrected though.

As a Tigers fan it looks ok at the minute. With Ben Youngs, Julian Salvi and Tom Croft still to agree new deals it could all go South quite quickly.

James (Blues)

Isn't James going back to the Os, Henson scored on his debut for Brizzle as well, Parling is a great capture for Exeter.

Will be good to see James back in Wales saves on all the Club v Country row though if Nicky Smith gets his form back when he retuns from injury he will have a good fight on his hands, guess that's what every player needs though.

Still surprised Wasps let Varndell go. At AP level there really isn't anyone that prolific. Halai should be great but the pace of Varndell is a weapon you can't really replace.

Yeah . Not sure if that's accurate or lazy journalism though. Exeter have a good back row as is and I'm not sure they'd need Croft unless Tom Johnson was retiring in which case Croft would be a similar player but a couple of steps up in quality.

Ben Youngs has been linked with France as has Salvi. Youngs is irreplaceable given that viable replacements aren't readily available on the market, cheap and would not get a preseason because of the RWC. Salvi would be tough to replace but given we've already signed up Brendan O'Connor I doubt we'd go looking for a big name.

Good dealings so far. I think probably 3 signings away from it being an outstanding effort and us having a squad that can push up the table. But a vast improvement on previous seasons.

This is very true. His all round game isn't the best but what he adds to your kick chase makes any half decent tactical kick a threat. As you say no one scores the numbers he does, outrageously proflic over a number of years.maybe Wasps feel his injuries are getting to him.

Ah I remember him now, he was rumoured around the time Cresswell was rumoured (he's now playing for us). Both are back row players but we could do with another lock. Is Jackson even a prominent figure at Wasps?

Yeah perhaps that's it. That's exactly my thinking, they'll have to be a lot more accurate in that area or adopt a different strategy. The handling of their backs is already pretty good, but Varndell also offers the ability to gain ground where there's very little space on the occasions he's had it shipped onto to him slowly - his acceleration is pretty incredible.

Any one else think next season is going to be even tighter and harder fought then this one? Teams like Exeter and Wasps have really strengthened their squads while the RWC will make the usual strong teams struggle a bit more.

Very interesting season to my mind.

Jon Evans, scrum-half from Dragons to Bath is now confirmed. Hopefully that means we'll keep Rees.

I think Evans is a decent player, when his pack is on the front foot (a rare occasion) he plays exceptionally well. So Bath may have acquired a good player, but I don't see him becoming an international any time soon.

Even more difficult to predict than this season - and there's still a lot more time for sides to strengthen. I can't see any side being weaker next season than they are this.

The upper middle section is ridiculously tight. I can see Gloucester getting better next season. Maybe Quins. Newcastle are generally improving, no idea on Irish. Then in addition, both Worcester and Bristol are building decent teams.

Saints have signed Ahsee Tuala, even scored a try against Wasps. Although not permanent, but same with Ryder and as you included him I guess you're doing both.

Also you have Waldouck In (Irish) but not out from Saints!

Is that the NZ winger/FB? If so, I've always thought he was pretty useful, reckon that could be a signing that's gone under the radar but could look good next season
