Celtic
GK Artur Boruc
RB Didier Agathe
LB Emilio Izaguirre
CB Johan Mjallby
CB Bobo Balde
RM Lubo Moravcik
LM Paolo Di Canio
CM Paul 'Maestro' McStay
CM Paul Lambert
ST Henrik Larsson
ST Pierre Van Hooijdonk

Just missing out are
Pat Bonner- I was just to young to appreciate how good he was.
Tom Boyd- Ex captain and good right back but never had Agathes pace.
Chris Sutton- Just never had as much about him in comparison to Van Hooijdonk.
John Hartson- Better finisher than Sutton and every bit as good a finisher as Van Hooijdonk just never had as much to his all round game as Sutton and Van Hooijdonk.

I was going to do a Liverpool one they have always been my favourite English club you are a little older than me though, I would be starting from the spice boys sort of mid 90's onwards.

Is this meant to be judged on how good they were when they played at our teams, or how good they went on to become, or how good their careers have been?

Carlisle United:
GK- Keiren Westwood
RB- Frank Simek
CB- Kevin Gray
CB- Ian Harte
LB- Peter Murphy
DM- Paul Thirwell
RM- Ben Marshall
LM- Simon Hackney
AM- Francois Zoko
ST- Michael Bridges
ST- Danny Graham

Just missing out:
Matt Jansen - I wish I'd seen him more and could remember the games I did see better but I was young and unfortunately I don't.
Rory Delap - Pretty much the same reason as Jansen, don't really remember how good he was, think my memory is biased due to how good his career has turned out to be.
Matty Robson - Doesn't play LM anymore, so I didn't feel it was right to have him as the best LM I've seen and remember.
Zigor Aranalde - Loved the guy, but Murphy wins the place due to his dedication to the club.
Richard Keogh - Poor at CB, good when moved to RB, but as much as it got the whole crowd going when you went and joined in the attack you still weren't the best defensively.

It was a toss up between Rush and Torres for a bench spot. To be fair we have been spoilt with strikers over the years.

On what they did at Celtic I would say Kenny on the bench is pretty fair. Larsson deserves to be ahead of Kenny purely on Celtic performances imo.

He would have been in if I hadn't played the formation that I did. I would have gone with Mulgrew on the left and McNaughton on the right hand side but went with the three centre backs.

Fair point he is awesome from the left though gets to the back post from wide areas better than anyone around. I was always a big Ronaldo fan I really like the guy most hate him. I need to ask is he only left out because he left for Real?

if i put him in people would only have asked why have i left Becks or Giggs out of the team. i stick by what i said, i see him more as a striker and Becks and Giggs offer more to the team.

That's a hard call. Probably 60:40 in Dalglish's favour. Feel that he did a bit more for the team, although you can't knock a goalscorer as great as Henrik. To me the greatness of the Lisbon Lions was their ability to play as a team.

I've not seen as much of Dalglish as I did Henrik just videos of King Kenny so I'm biased towards Henrik. The Lions were a truely wonderful side and a one off. Never repeated and never will be.

As a West Ham fan this is very irritating...we have had so much talent in our sides through the years that to list a best of is almost like a 'what could have been' exercise. Nevertheless...

GK: Ludek Miklosko

RB: Stuart Pearce (yes, he is traditionally left-back, but that spot is taken!)
LB: Julian Dicks
CB: Rio Ferdinand
CB: Slaven Bilic

RM: Eyal Berkovic
LM: Joe Cole
CM: Scott Parker
CM: Frank Lampard

FW: Paolo Di Canio
FW: John Hartson

Honourable mentions to Steve Potts, Michael Carrick, Trevor Sinclair, Freddie Kanoute and probably numerous others that I have missed.

It's sickening isn't it? Just imagine what could have been if we'd kept some of our players.

We'd have Rio, Lampard, Cole, Carrick, Defoe, Johnson, Parker, Green, Upson etc all in one team! Oh well, at least I can grow old and bitter with good reason.

I always say this, the West Ham players that were all sold weren't good enough to cut it at West Ham and only got into the England team when they were at their new club. Joe Cole got in whilst at West Ham but wasn't as good as Mourinho made him, Scott Parker only gets mentioned because he's the best of a bad bunch.

The only current West Ham England internationals were England players before they signed.

West Ham may have a good academy but it's Chelsea, United and Spurs that made the players great.

I can agree to an extent, but I tend to think rather than making them 'great' they made them more prominent. You don't need to play for a bigger club to become great, if the ability is within the player they will show it anywhere.

Rio made his England debut while at West Ham, as did Carrick. Parker may be the best of a bad bunch here, but for England he fully deserves his place in the holding role. He's far more versatile than a Gareth Barry type player.

Liverpool (Bearing in mind I have only been watching footy since around 1999)

GK- Reina

RB- Finnan
CB- Hyypia
CB- Carragher
LB- Riise

CDM- Alonso
CDM- Hamann

CAM- Gerrard

ST- Fowler
ST- Owen
ST- Torres

As an actual team it'd probably do rubbish, but I just tried to get in all the best players I had watched. Smile
