Doumbia-Rondon-Lambert would mean Berahino was free to leave. If we could get £20m for him it would pay the wages of that front three for a few weeks at least.

Plus, Berahino is a fool who doesn't take his career seriously. I'd happily sell him but only for the right price.

He's a good player, but he's chased the money at bigger clubs & stagnated, he didn't even want to join Stoke a month ago, because he sees himself as a bigger fish, so interesting to see how long he lasts at Stoke. It's not even the position I'd be strengthening, seeing as Bojan will be returning & they've signed Afellay. They haven't replaced N'Zonzi & as yesterday showed, they had no power in the middle or a player that could burst through from a deeper midfield role. Adam/Whelan & Van Ginkel won't scare many teams.

Pulis plays a CM and a CB at LB/RB and we get pasted out wide.

Pulis plays two 6st CMs against Toure and Fernandinho. We get pasted through the middle.

Pulis plays a fat has been up front, we get pasted up top.

Going to be a VERY long season at The Hawthorns.

Joey Barton on a free as cover isn't too bad to be fair. He's not fantastic, but he's certainly serviceable and good enough for this level. He's not going to be starting every week, doubt his wages will be through the roof and so long as he doesn't get himself into anything stupid he'll be fine.

Despite there being quite a lot spent in the window, it does feel like a really quiet one. Only Liverpool and Manchester United seem to have pushed the boat out. Arsenal have made one signing, Chelsea have made two quite boring and back up signings. Manchester City made the big Sterling move but have otherwise been quiet. It'll be interesting to see if after the first few games clubs panic. I can certainly see Arsenal making a few more signings if the next game goes poorly.

Westi, here is a quick summary I've seen on him. Looks like a slightly better Obertan, to me.

Style

Traore is a winger & a master of the one-on-one situation. Blessed with explosive acceleration, good touch, excellent balance and an incredibly tight turning circle, he is a regular tormentor of full-backs. But he still needs to learn how to use these attributes to best effect in a collective context. He doesn't link particularly effectively with his teammates, his end product is inconsistent, and well-organised defences are able to usher him into blind alleys.

Major Strengths

- powerful acceleration and high top speed
- wonderful agility and balance
- two-footed

Major Weaknesses

- little awareness of teammates' positioning
- inconsistent end product
- needs to add variety to his game
- Traore scored just three times in 37 appearances (29 starts) for the B team last season, so is a poor finisher

Guessing Liverpool couldn't guarantee Traore enough first team football to make it worth Barcelona's or Traore's while. Not sure where he would have fit in with Coutinho, Ibe, Firminio, Lallana, Markovic, Origi, Ings, Sturridge etc.

It's worth noting that Barcelona believed Traore to be one of the best products of La Masia since Messi. Obviously Bojan was probably the last one of that ilk, but I imagine if he is leaving Barcelona they'll have a buy back clause in place in case he lives up to his potential. At the moment he seems a very typical winger, the sort that for some reason is chalked up as an English problem rather than it being a worldwide issue that pace and physicality is too powerful in youth set ups.

No, it's confirmed he has joined Stoke

@Crimey - Like everything, La Masia has stopped producing the required talent, to break into the first team, like it previously has done. Deulofeu was labelled the next best thing & wasn't good enough & now it's maybe Traore or Alen Halilovic. The fact Barcelona B were relegated last season, probably goes to show the end of the cycle of success at La Masia & the reason Barca have recently signed players like Aleix Vidal & Arda Turan.

Talk that Sahko could be on his way out of anfield, due in part to the fact he is behind Lovren in the pecking order. Now, Sahko wasn't exactly candidate for CB of the season last year, but he was far FAR better than Lovren. Truth is we need both.(Although I'd rather have Sahko starting). Hope Rodgers inability to admit a mistake (in this case signing Lovren) doesn't cause more issues for Liverpool..

I'd be very annoyed if Otamendi leaves for City but personally think we've got it wrapped up. Not too bothered about Ramos as it was unlikely and in my view, means real have made it more difficult for themselves to sign De Gea this summer. They either pay what we want or have to wait another year, which means we get our best player for an important campaign. Similar to what happened with Ronaldo when he gave Fergie one more year before knowing he would be allowed to leave.

Back to Otamendi, think he's exactly what we need and will be a Vidic type signing. If Van Gaal wants this left foot right foot combination then him and Rojo could potentially be brilliant. Both very aggressive and as fellow countrymen could form a great understanding. Sign Pedro and it's a brilliant transfer window for us.

think Liverpool are harsh on lovren, basically wrote him off after one bad season, his first at that, imagine if we had done that with vidic! actually think he's a better player than sahko whos just a big lump, and has at least proven he can perform in the prem unlike sahko.

takes times settling into a new club whether played in the prem or not. and lets face it moving from Southampton to Liverpool is like moving to a different country anyway, certainly speak a different language

would imagine he'll slot into the role left by schneiderlin, not a eye catchy role but one where he can disrupt play and get the ball moving from the back (something i think he lacks over morgan)

More frustrating that the one horrible (and he was truly horrible) season seems enough to convince Rodgers he should be part of our starting CB partnership! Would rather have Sahko any day of the week. Although I can see why opposition fans would like to see him as a starter...

LVG quite openly admitting he's interested in Pedro, not sure why we're hanging around for the sake of a couple of million, whilst i'm not overawed with the signing would be better it's done sooner rather than later.
