RSA vs Japan

First topic message reminder :

There's no thread for this one - I think SA so far look less than impressive. They're trying to play at a high tempo but making mistakes, whilst the Japanese are also playing at that tempo and looking promising. They're certainly hitting hard in the tackle.

RSA should eventually win at a canter, but I wonder what will be said in the aftermath. Please use this thread to discuss that.

I've lost £100 betting on this after liking the look of the spread bets in play, but I honestly couldn't care less, that's one of the most incredible games of any sport I've ever seen

I enjoyed it. I said on the quota thread that the side was.ponderous. I said it was old. I didn't think we'd lose to Japan, but I was concerned when I realised they aren't going away.

Yeah upsets are extremely rare in Rugby Union. If it's true SA were 100/1 to win this is indeed one of the biggest upset ever in all sports.

Very good coach...and got his team perfectly ready.

Many of the top teams should take note of the pride, passion and courage the Japanese played with.

my wife only watched the post match celebrations by the japanese and shes in floods of tears....oh my god.

i feel for SA massively. but lets give all the credit to Japan. that decision to take the scrum at the end was the bravest decision and declaration of belief i have ever seen.

If you're from anywhere other than South Africa and you weren't screaming at the TV when Japan scored the winning try, you shouldn't be watching sport. Just fantastic.

This group is so wide open now assuming Samoa and Scotland turn up with this kind of intensity.

Just saw bits and pieces of this but the energy and commitment Japan put into everything was just unbelievable. So who from this group is going to join them in the quarter finals?

yes, its not about wanting SA to lose at all. it was about celebrating the bravery, skill and effort of the massive underdogs.

I couldn't scream,I was stunned speechless.I'm still very quiet trying to take it in,this has turned everything I thought I knew about the sport upside down.

Eddie Jones, as i have said many times, is a very good coach.

That was the most unbelievable i have seen in a long time.

I really thought SA would out a huge score in Japan. Never did i think Japan would come any where near winning.
