Lewis Hamilton to Launch Extreme E Team

You know that Formula E series launched by Alejandro Agag a few years ago? Well now he's had an idea for an extreme, off-road racing series and Lewis has decided its time to join the party. As well as being committed to ending racism, he's also apparently a keen environmentalist.

As well as using electric vehicles, they use environmental consultants to ensure the races have the minimum possible impact on the venues they are held at, as well as investigating ongoing effects of climate change. They also plan and implement "environmental legacy" actions, to improve the ecology of the places they visit.

Its also an "equal opportunities" series with each team having 1 male and 1 female driver.

Hamilton's X44 team (named after his racing number) will run a rather fetching purple livery. While he won't be taking part in the series, he will "help guide a dedicated team" which I'm guessing means he will play a sort of advisor / mentor role to the drivers and have input anywhere he feels he can help.
