Players Prize Money

ATP have just announced that Players Prize Money is set to increase by 9% over the next 3 years exceeding $90M (£55.8M) by 2014.

What do you think?

Of course they don't 'deserve' it - pro sportsmen are in the main vastly overpaid compared with those of us in the real world. However, more power to them and to the ATP if they can (afford to) continue increasing the prize pot despite the current economic problems.

Totally disagree. It's a really tough sport and one of the most underpaid! Imagine a profession where you had millions of students of that profession but only the top 20 (at most) can make a full leaving out of it.

Really really tough.

We have hundreds of lucky brokers in the city alone who were not always chosen for their skills but who they knew making more than the players ranked below 5....and in many case more than the top 5.

If you are paid it, you earned it. Even if you earned it by browbeating people with stupid arguments such as the womens game, you "earn" it because you got it.

Everyone is paid what they earned, high or low.
