Hatton - an anouncement today!

Hi guys,

Been reading you lot for sometime, some really impressive knowledge here.

Just spotted this on the BBC.
0857: BOXING - Former world champion Ricky Hatton arranges a news conference for 1300 BST where he says he will make a "major announcement".

Surely he isnt going to come back?

He's fighting Wlad?

I hope it's his retirement. Although he wasn't outstanding I don't want to see anyone beat by guys they would of beat with ease in their prime, which is what will happen to Hatton.

Without trying to sound negative, if this is Hatton announcing his retirement it's a bit of an ego thing for him I mean 90% of us have classed him as retired anyway and to have a big spectacle to officially confirm it is pointless.

Floyd Mayweather finished off Hatton mentally and physically

Perhaps he's dissolving Hatton Promotions.

Hopefuly, he will retire, but something tells me it will be to announce a fight

Used to like the lad before hes started making excuses for Mayweather and Manny..

Apparently the referee lost him the fight to Floyd and he overtrained for Manny...

Me I've never seen anybody so inept at fighting a southpaw in all my time following the sport..

Needs to retire I enjoyed his career and it's over..

Maybe Hatton is going to boil down to SMW and become a 'World Champ' at a 3rd weight class by capturing the coveted WBU title!

as far as I know he still has not got a license to fight on the back of some of his leisure activities, would guess he would have to get that sorted before he even dreams of fighting again. Personally whatever it is don't think it will be a comeback.

However there are more pressing issues with Hatton such as how can an uncultured, ugly and intellectually challenged dwarf have such a nice girl!!!

Surely it must be a big fight he has secured for one of his fighters, he wouldn't come back surely.

He is a rich professional sportman and she isn't that great.

why he needs to announce it is beyond me - i thought he was already retired?

He likes the limelight and he lacks class these days hence the excuses against Floyd and Manny...

As being brought up in Tipperary and my mother also being Irish, i'll say myself Ireland has never had a fighter in the same league as Hatton in my memory, McGuigan was the closest, the last world champ Bernard Dunne would of been smashed to bits of Rendall Munroe, McCloskey although robbed of going 12 rounds against Khan never really moved for 6 rounds in that fight, and is European level at best. Macklin should be a world champ though!
