The red pen of modding!
Hello everyone!
Thought I’d better you aware of a slight change we’re implementing from this point onwards.
It’s been mentioned on a couple of occasions that it’s hard for members to be able to tell when a mod/admin is speaking as a mod rather than as a member especially as the admin/mods have more of a presence on this site compared to the mods on the old 606 site.
So in order to clearly define when a mod/admin is wearing their mod hat so to speak they shall now post all instructions etc using a red font like this, this is to be used as a minimum hopefully (though we need your help for that!). Any mod/admin posting in the normal font colour is a normal post and it’s to be treated as you would a regular poster.
If you wish to discuss a matter that a mod/admin raises then we advise to do so via PM in order to keep disruption to the thread to a minimum. Mods & Admin shall also endeavour to raise any issues they have in private when it is necessary.
If anyone wishes to discuss this further then please do not hesitate to contact myself.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Re: The red pen of modding!
I thought using coloured fonts was banned (ie the yellowgate incident) because the site is supposed to be work friendly?

Red suggests that the Mods are evil no? Surely a more neutral colur such as this should be used!

No it's not banned - it's a restricted activity

It's not something that we wish to use overly so hopefully it shouldnt effect workplaces anymore than smileys etc.

Red isn't evil (though my wife has red hair so perhaps you're onto something). It does though highlight a warning.

Isn't the devil usually protrayed as red?

I think the yellowgate incident was a one off, or else posting on topic comments is against house rules too.Union Cane wrote:I thought using coloured fonts was banned (ie the yellowgate incident) because the site is supposed to be work friendly?

So are Ladybirds, everyone likes them (apart from when they pee on the back of your hand).Isn't the devil usually protrayed as red?
Re: The red pen of modding!
I don't like Ladybirds. Is the red showing bias towards horrible teams such as Man Utd,Liverpool and Arsenal. Boo-urns

Re: The red pen of modding!
I do as well.
My dad is a Spurs fan. As a 5 year old he took me to Old Trafford to watch Utd v Spurs in hope that I'd catch the Spurs bug, Utd won and I supported them from that day on. Grew up got the season ticket etc, spent a few years watching Cantona from the stands. Then met the Mrs and had kids making it both unaffordable and unlikely time wise that I'd get chance to keep going to watch them so instead I now go to watch Macc Town where it's £16 to get in for myself & my eldest son and it only takes 10 minutes to get home.

Re: The red pen of modding!
Bargain. I know it's nowhere near the same standard(although ex Players Shane Long and Kevin Doyle are doing alright! ) but a ticket for a Cork City match in the league of Ireland is around €8 under 5s for free and €5 for teens. The prices vary a lot though. It's €15 for a ticket up in Dublin!

Re: The red pen of modding!
I have heard that red pens in school/college are now banned as it can damage the students physiologically.
I therefore now have a disclaimer that I am not responsible for any mental stress caused by red font issues.

So it wasn't the large -F written at the top of the page that was damaging?
