Team orders surely Empty Team orders surely

Horner radios Webber to "maintain gap" to Vettel. This is to prevent or effectively order him not to overtake Vettel. Surely this is the same as Germany with Ferrari. Ok the driver ahead wasnt ordered to allow the one behind through, but its still interferring with your drivers positions!?

Thoughts?

Team orders are allowed now, I think, so nothing illegal took place.

Guardian chief sports writer Richard Williams on Twitter: "Did #F1 fans really expect #RedBull to risk losing both cars on last lap? Get real!"

And someone else: "Christian Horner's changed his tune from last year, when he was so scathing of team orders from Ferrari. How is telling one car to let another pass different from just not allowing them to race?"

As of next year the rule stating “team orders which interfere with the result of a race” will no longer apply.

Ah fair enough then. Dont recall that happening. So once again they're reverting the rules back again next season.

How many reg changes is the modern F1 going to go through. Rules seem to change every year.

Team order are now legal because the FIA don't have the balls to punish the teams. Every Formula 1 fan knows team orders are bad for the sport but for some reason the people running the sport are blind to this.

Christian Horner kept stating this was in the best interests of the team even though the team points are the same. If Red Bull truly believe that Formula 1 is a team sport they should remove their drivers from the Drivers Championship and concentrate on the Constructors Title.

The team order rule was removed because the FIA stated they couldn't prove that team orders had been given but with Ferrari last season and Red Bull today that was pretty clear.

In them cases, if Ferrari and Red Bull think one car is only able to win a race, then maybe the FIA insist they only run on. car for the remainder of that given season. That would surely make them think twice.
