Pavlik - Back on the booze? Empty Pavlik - Back on the booze?

Post by School Project Wed Jul 13, 2011 4:03 pm

Hi all, hope all is well.

I just read a story on the Ring mag website about Kelly Pavlik getting into a drink fuelled fight with his brother in Youngstown... I'd post the link but I'm unable to due to posting this from my phone.

It's a shame to see that the once touted middleweight has seen so much personal trouble recently due to the booze and although details are a little thin... doesn't bode well for his biggest fight - his struggle with the bottle.

I think this could definitely count towards the subject of fighters who fall from grace... and it isn't uncommon to hear of boxers who find solace from the bottom of a bottle.

I hope he sorts himself out before potentially damaging his career as he has always seemed like a nice guy outside of the ring.

The Pavlik brothers kicking off in an alcohol crazed state. Cue phonecalls from Hollywood to Ross Kemp and Steve McFadden......

I think it's very uncommon to find solace from the bottom of a bottle. It's the stuff that comes before the bottom of a bottle is where the solace is at!

If it's not the booze these days it seems it's the Bolivian marching powder.

Argh sorry Scott, only saw the link after you mentioned it... ironic how it was posted in the pub thread first!

I don't suspect Pavlik to go all Valero in anyone, but this isn't the stuff you want to read about, especially when he's trying to get his life back on track anyway.

He does have a tendancy to hit doors/windows a lot though... isn't that how he got the infection in his hand?

Pavlik's finished.

Bute would pulverise him.

Although i didn't think Pavlik was all that to begin with he is definately on the decline and finished as a top contender, shame to see him having problems again hopefully he has something to focus on for the future and doesn't carry on in the ring or drinking.
