We have about 7 or 8 threads that are about different aspects of The Open. I took the view they were too different to merge but not one stood out to make the "sticky" one. I've been using the one about The Open on the Beeb to comment on what I'm seeing while I'm sat here at work - but I've been reading all the others too. Can make this one the sticky though if you prefer - just didn't want to stick all seven!

Seems like there is little love for the open on v2. On old 606 the open thread used to get 100's of posts a day.

All the other tin pot tournaments had one and then The Open comes along and.....nothing.

I deliberately titled mine as I did because others are better qualified on the European-based events, but there's been some chat on my "Viking" thread.

Would certainly welcome more but the plain facts are that we're not attracting more than about a third to a half of comments on pro golf as on BBC 606, and this week even less.

Not like you to be gloom and doom GJ, Adam had a nice round, and JDay played OK. Bad 14th hole for Badds, stuffed two tee shots wide right, out of bounds.
Still think Adam Scott has a great chance. Still hate the putter though - Peter Allis suggested it was so long he should stick it up his nostril and swivel his head. Nice!

adam should have kicked on -2 and had the easier holes to play and messed up

jason could produce a low one tomorrow as he tends to start slow in majors and does better in round 2

There is nothing to stop any of you starting your own thread on The Open if you want one.

I'd suggest an "Open - Day 2" thread for today
