Pooly do you actually read what is posted ??? I Actually say it's not a red but point out why they may have upheld it. As "most" people who watch the game know concussion Is a hot topic and the RFU has to show it's being tough on it and by virtue of this they are going to be a bit reactionary to people who cause it.

As I point out if he has not been knocked out there would not have been a red. Hughes had no need to run in and it was careless.

Please take the trouble to read posts carefully. Whistle

They have to appeal the decision - though I guess Toulon missing out seeing how good a ball carrier he is wouldn't be the worst thing to happen.

The RFU should never have let him ref that game, I don't think the TMO are allowed to tell the ref to change his mind, only point him in the right direction - trouble is the controversial bits like that are played out on the big screens, fine for tries but anything to do with foul play should only be seen by the TMO as surely they get paid to make the decision?

Dave Attwood's attempt to dislodge the ball from North when he actually kicked him in the face was 10x worse and didn't even get cited. Pretty sure it left North unconscious as well.

Matt Dawson did a vote on twitter about it as well and was 80-90% saying he shouldn't have been banned at all - really think red card was a sufficient punishment. Worst disciplinary panel decision I have seen.

Like Mat has said if North wasn't knocked out nothing would have happened, but agree with you there Pooly.

There are a lot of players who try and kick the ball out of a players hand when they try and ground a ball for a try, but never get penalised for that - its like saying you can only red card someone in a spear tackle if the tackle hurts the player.

Have you seen the ref has said he did not see it in real time ?? The video ref asked him to watch it in real time which they did. Odd statement

This makes the Hughes ban look like a stupid decision, Burger did a no arms tackle on Snickler, which caused the prop ligament damage and could miss the rest of the season. Illegal challenge, injury to a player, not even a citing.

Genia has been decent this year behind a massively beaten pack. Horwill has had the biggest decline I have seen in a player Steve.

Did you see that article I posted a while ago with the papers calling for him to be dropped and saying if reds did not have such injury problems he would be dropped.

He was superb about 4 years ago but has lost everything. Strange how you can have it all and lose it.

In one match this year he gave away more penalties than the entire opposition did in one game.

Stormers came back really well. Their props are very good. Once their world class players in vermaulen burger and Etzbeth started to take it to them they really got on top. Stormers were on the end of some stinking decisions.

Hurricanes will not win a title with that front row. They miss coles greatly

Genia's had some good games this year, really hard for any scrum half to play behind that pack. What on earth has happened to their pack this year?

Genia has really struggled, he's lost his zip and passing has been poor. Hardly seen him make a telling contribution all season.

Burger & Vermeulen were great today. Etzebeth looked unfit and struggled to make an impact, probably just lack of game time.

Lol commentator said " Etzbeth had a great second half he has really taken it to them " he was everywhere as was vermaulen and burger.

Every breakdown or ball carry seemed to be by them.

Deallende was superb and is developing in to a first rate 12. Great buy by prop or whoever bought him. Along with nonu been best 12 in the comp.

All 3 were anonymous first half. Would like to see their second half stats vs 1st

Stormers so frustrating.

It really was a game of 2 halfs.

Disagree, Etzebeth was hanging. He struggled to get involved but he's hardly played so expected.

Was a little optimistic about Wasps this week with all the Toulon injuries, but Wade's just been ruled out with a hammy and Hughes appeal won't take place in time.

I was there prop. May and sharples were great at running it back and threatening. Kvesic was superb again. Meakes also went well.

Hook is not a 10 and it shows. For me he is a 12/15.

We defended well and mccol is a poor fb every time I see him for us. Kvesic best English 7
By a mile on form. He plays like that every game.

On 12t back as they know he is not worthy of shirt.

Moriarty was superb as sub and is looking the real deal every time he plays

Fantastic article really technical and very true. NZ not just Chiefs area true innovators

Cruden is probably the best restart kicker of all time which allows innovation. You know where it's going and they are essentially ahead of the game.

If I was part of the RFU law makers I would make engagement with the Maul compulsory from lineout: when they back away and not engage it is actually contrary to the laws.

I have had an answerphone message tonight asking me to run a scrum and ruck session for England u16 before there game against Usa u17 at Wellington college Sunday,

Can only assume some coaches are not about as I am only level 2 and was told I could not get involved More until doing level 3 which I do not have time for. A real opportunity but usually need more time to plan sessions

I think bath will lose hopefully but think saints have the pack to beat clermont. Their pack is not what it was and locks not great. If Hartley plays rugby instead of being pantomime villain and Corbs starts they can do it.

I see fofana back but their halfbacks are poor for euro QF level. Brock James is not at that level anymore.

Just looked at saints pack and strongest it can be. Manoa and lawes a great pair. Prefer manoa at lock don't think he is backrow.

Dickinson been great since back. Not an England player despite having been in squads but a top player. Same with Clark. Both excellent and valuable at top level. With wood its a hard working unit

You need players like clark and Dickinson who are not int class to make up a side.
They play lots of games.
Offer leadership and are just that one level below int.

Difference between top sides and lower ones. Leicester always
Had the likes
Of deacon, gustard etc. you need quality players like Garvey, Clark, Dickinson etc to be successful.
Int players away so much it's often about quality of your side without them

Clark is a level above Dicksinson, as shown by his constant inclusions in the England squads.

Is Clark int class? I'm not sure as he's not been given a shot. Dickinson certainly isn't though.

Dickinson been out injured but when fit often involved with England. Lamcaster actually wanted to change the laws around squad announcements to accommodate him season before last year. He was locked out as not announced in original squads and then included.

Is Dickinson as good as vunipola, Morgan etc no is Clark better than wood, Haskell or croft definitely not.
They are a similar level and a great comparison.

Clark is on the edge of the England 23, Dickinson is nowhere.
