AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been hit with a four-match ban by Uefa following his 'assault' of Tottenham assistant coach Joe Jordan.

Controversial scenes at the San Siro last Tuesday saw the Italian headbutt Jordan in the aftermath of Spurs' 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory, having earlier grabbed the 59-year-old former Scotland and Milan midfielder by the throat.

Gattuso was already suspended for the return leg of the last-16 tie at White Hart Lanefollowing his caution during the clash, which marked his third of the tournament.
