F1 Points Scoring for 2011
Please can someone confirm whether Formula 1 have changed the points scoring for this coming season to wins?
I know I could Google it, but I'm also interested in what peoples thoughts are regarding the two systems (or any other potentials)?

I'ne not heard of any change E.
And I thought last season's system was a revelation. The best system since the old 10,6,4,3,2,1 - because it actaully rewards winning - which is essential for good racing.

Cheers, I seemed to remember when the medal system was first mentioned Ecclestone said he would postpone it for a season.
I guess the success of the new points system has made it seem pointless to change. I doubt it will take them long to tinker and mess it up again though!

From memory and while Ecclestone did say earlier that he would postpone this silly scheme for a year, I believe he has shelved the idea..... for now at least. Remember though that he has had quite a few knocks on the head so be prepared to brace yourself for more lunacy from him.
This silly man should have retired gracefully from F1.
Cheers

The medals scheme was a terrible idea and made no sense really. Ecclestone doting in his old age. I like the 2010 points system, more points available means more likelihood of the championship going to the final race with 3-4 drivers still in with a chance of winning the title. You can't ask for much more than that.

Totally agree Mr Storm, we finally have a points system that is fair and makes sense.
I actually wish Bernie would gracefully retire and while we're on the subject of aged F1 moguls, I do wish the press would stop giving Mosley those precious column inches it seems to do so on occasion. Enough as they say is enough as I'm sure we all agree

To be honest, at first I didn't really warm to the new points system for the 2010 season. However, over time it grew on me and although I wouldn't really mind either way, it would be nice to see that system stay with us for the forthcoming season.
