Worst Gimmick

For nostaglic purposes I recently watched Survivor Series'90 and came across something that had, as a young fan, been etched so definitely in my mind.

The Gobbledy Gooker.

As the show got under way, Okerlund began hinting about the large egg thats going to hatch tonight and the travesty of it all came flooding back. I remember sitting there as a child in complete disbelief and amazment that the WWF had come up with and heavily promoted something so hideously lame, weak in character, zero dimensional and so clearly disliked by the fans.

I'm hugely aware of the The Shockmaster (praise be his glory) and think that the worst gimmick devised and exocuted would either be himself or the Gooker. I'm sure that most, or all, of you are aware of them but if not, check them out on youtube immediately.

I only followed up until 1995/96 so there could very well have been worse characters since.

Who is your worst????

one that sticks out to me was the ice hockey player, can't remember his name. he was there in the mid 1990s. Awful.

On a side note does anybody remember Brakus? They made a big deal about him coming to get Bret Hart, but i don't remember him ever debuting or seeing what he looked like. ANyone shed light on what happened to Brakus?

No idea on what Brakus is now up to sorry. Even Wiki forgets him.

When your catchphrase is "If it's not White, it's not right" you can see why certain parties liked the gimmick

I didn't mind it, I wouldn't say it was a great gimmick, but it wasn't a bad gimmick either. There have been some terrible gimmicks, and if Kerwin White was able to continue then we'd know if it was good or bad!

I dont think the actual gimmick was terrible, I just dont see how giving the perrenial mid carder Chavo the gimmick to try and get him over, with him wearing golf clothes and suddenly going from latino poster boy to middle class white guy, was ever gonna work.

If they had given the same gimmick to a relative newcomer but the fact it was Chavo who was so well known just kinda turned it in to a joke for me

What about Duke the dumpster drossey...a wrestling bin man? or Sparky T. Plugg, both terrible gimmicks

This one is purely a personal thing but I never liked mvp's gimmick. Well I never liked his look, I'm not entirely sure what he was supposed to be.
