surrey vs kent county championship division 2

Chris Jordan is included as Surrey name a twelve man squad to take on Kent at Canterbury in the LV= County Championship match beginning on Wednesday.
The young all-rounder replaces Stuart Meaker, who is currently unavailable for selection due to his involvement with the England Lions. Arun Harinath also misses out, in the only two changes to the squad that made the successful trip to Cheltenham in Surrey’s last LV= County Championship match.
Jade Dernbach is once again available for selection after missing last week’s victory over Northamptonshire in the Clydesdale Bank 40.

Would like to see Harinath still in the squad, but it doesn't make much difference, as he'll only play if we go for seven batsmen anyway. Agree that Jordan seems certain to be the one to miss out.

I agree with the comments so far, can't see past Jordan for the one to miss out from the final XI.

It's a shame Jordan has been so poor this year as I would prefer him to play than one of the spinners if the pitch looked more seam friendly but I think he will miss out regardless as the management won't have the faith in him.

I agree the likely team. Much depends on what support the Viscount gets from the other quicker bowlers. By all accounts we bowled well against Gloucs, especially in the first innings - in contrast to the patchy performance on the bowler friendly pitch against Middlesex at Guildford.

I don't know why Jordan has been picked above Dunn, as Jordan has done nothing this season, whereas Dunn took a 5-for on his CC debut.

Couldn't have really gone any better could it? Especially after losing the toss. All the bowlers contributed and then the openers have done excellently to be unbeaten at the close, that's the 3rd 50 partnership in a row for our latest opening pair. Encouraging signs.

Well well well, I left it at 200-6 and was fully expecting to come home to Kent 350-7, but apart from Riaz having a bit of a slog, we've finished them off quite well, and that looks a really good response to a tricky 12 overs at the end.
All the bowlers chipped in - really good day considering they won the toss..................don't mess it up now lads!

Agree pretty much all the above comments. Very solid performance today finished off by the useful opening partnership. Good to see Ansari get another wicket. We've got a long batting line up with Arafat at 9 - but we really need to dig in with some big scores from the early and middle order. With uncertain weather we should aim for a big lead to save time later in the match.
