Pick of today's matches??
Obviously we have TMF vs Sela on AA, and later Novak vs Berlocq - Hopefully TMF can step it up a bit today and eliminate those ues.
Tsonga, Monfils and Berdych also in action, the latter facing socal's dastardly Fognini! Two matches that could prove to be interesting are the contest between Marin Cilic and the young Bernard Tomic on Court 17 in the afternoon, and Dr Ivo vs the divinely gifted Monsieur Gasquet on court 11.
Good luck as well to Elena Baltacha as she faces 2004 champion, the erratic Svetlana Kuznetsova.

I shall try and watch as much as I can TP as I seem to have missed most of the matches thus far

for those who don't like to be bored by unimaginative endless rallies, then I suggest you to watch Llodra vs. Anderson!
Berdych-Fognini could be decent

TMF doesn't give us any unimaginative endless rallies these days. Either he smashes the guy off the court or he wangs it up into the stands.
All quite quickly.

I'm not doing too well either legend - missed TMF the other night, but quite grateful about that after reading reports of the first set!!! Caught Murray match last night, and Djokovic's set and a bit the night before. Saving my energy to stay up and watch a select few of the late night matches next week. Bookmarked Fed tonight and would like to see a bit of the Cilic v Tomic contest - no plans to stay up and cheer on Nole later!

Too true Will it be good Fed or bad Fed that turns up this afternoon/tonight?

Re: Pick of today's matches??
I pick two matches amongst others:
Haas - Falla
Fognini - Berdych
Haas is one of my all time favourite and it's great to see him back in shape. Falla has played really the match of his life against Troiky and he is capable of great touch on the ball and control.
Fognini, whatever Soc might say is a talented player, hope he can put up a fight today

I might be being an idiot here, but what does TMF stand for? It's clear you're referring to Federer, so maybe...
The Majestic Federer?
Too Many Framed (shots)?

The Mighty Federer aka The Swiss Assasin, Fedex, GOAT, Fedexpress.

Re: Pick of today's matches??
either will do on occasions Chaz, but it usually stands for The Mighty Fed as emancipator says. I quite like Darth Federer (after one USO outfit) and the Federer Express. He is also often known as Federror affectionately by his fans (distressingly more often nowadays) and Shanky or Shankster - the latter are good for yelling at the screen in times of stress!!!Chazfazzer wrote:I might be being an idiot here, but what does TMF stand for? I've always preferred the FedExpress as a nickname, although yeah that Darth Federer outfit was pretty cool at the US Open (2007, if I remember correctly). He lived up to the name that year - I remember those matches against Roddick and Lopez as if they were yesterday!

Karlo v Gasquet is for me a very interesting match. Gasqet has talent but stands way far back to retrieve serves in general...Against Karlo, this flaw might be costly.
I think this one is pretty open.

Aaaaah - those were the days! Let's hope there is a bit of the Darth Federer about for the next week and a half!

Yes, I think it might be hard to call. Let's hope that Reeshard triumphs for the tennis gods and you feel that he really, really should.
I wonder what it is like to watch Dr Ivo's serve coming towards you, presuming you are able to see the majority of them!

I shall tune in for Haas and Falla. This will go 4 sets at least. Good old slugfest until the main course later.

The biggest shot in tennis history as Roddick once said...and probably true. No shot scored as many % winners in the past....I think.

Fed cruising without playing part. well.
Dudi has nothing to hurt him with.

Re: Pick of today's matches??
Expected this would happen, Sela is quite a flashy player (see him vs Roddick at Queens), and flashy players tend to get outflashed playing the Swiss, comfortable matchup really.
