Blues Captain

Blues Captain Empty Blues Captain

This season Paul Tito was told to continue his role as Blues captain, which he has held since his arrival, taking it off Xavier Rush and Martyn Williams.

However, Tito was benched for several games at the end of the season in favour of Mike Paterson and Bradley Davies.

Now, even with Davies away with Wales and Paterson deputising at 6, Tito remains on the bench in favour of the ageing Deniol Jones and promising youngster James Down.

How can Tito be expected to captain when he is dropped? Was it a mistake to reappoint him, made only due to the lack of organisation in the Blues structure with the loss of Dai Young, was a new captain considered too disruptive?

So for the Edinburgh game, the Blues have yet another captain, so go alongside Gethin Jenkins, Martyn Williams, Xavier Rush, Paul Tito and Daffydd Hewitt as the Blues recent captains - TRThomas captains the team from Hooker. (interestingly, Warburton has never captained the Blues)

So, when the internationals return, will Tito have a chance to make the starting 15? If not, should a new captain be appointed,

As Wales Captain, should Warburton also captain the Blues (as Matthew Rees, Ryan Jones, Stephen Jones and Martyn Williams all captained their regions)

Or will Gethin Jenkins get the nod as he deputised for Tito last season?

Or should Tito remain as a 'club captain' and a on field captain decided for each game.
