The great Ospreys offload
Offloading the Ospreys "Galacticos scum" will turn out to be one of the smartest moves ever seen in the professional rugby era.
There is nothing worse than having a squad of so called superstars that consistently underperform. These overhyped overpayed players weren't actually that good & I think there was a massive amount of young talent being blocked.
Henson, Byrne & Phillips were nothing but trouble & expense for the Ospreys with patchy waves of form. Hook was a consumate professional & I'm absolutely gutted he is gone. He is one of the best 10's in the world & always wanted to play there.
The Ospreys have some excellent feeder clubs & are producing a lot of home grown talent & don't need to rely on expensive imports as much as other regions.
If they don't make the playoffs this year I won't be too disappointed however I definitely think the squad is capable of winning the league if they play like a team.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrr No he isnt, you are deffo wring there.
When you consider that Carter/ Wilkinson, being the top 2 fly halfs in the game of rugby union right now.
Then their is Cooper (quade)that is.
Then their is Morneye Steyne/ Matt Gutoie(spelling)
So no i after disagree with you about Hook being the best fly Half in the world.
Hook is a good player but to say ihe is the best 10 in the world, is just poor illusion.

Re: The great Ospreys offload
One of the best (when he plays there)
The 3 times he played 10 against England Wales won. In 2007 & 2011 he scored the tries. In 2008 he created a try & didn't miss a kick.
In 2010 he was wasted at 13 but still managed to sidestep Wilko a treat & beat 3 or 4 men.
Wilko played in a legendary team. Hook is a class attacker & runner.

he didn't say that Hook was the best, he said he's 'one of the best', maybe you should read the post before spouting off.

Re: The great Ospreys offload
The only two teams in the world that would consider not playing Hook at 10 if they had him would be NZ and AUS due to DC and QC. Therefore he is one of the best 10s.
Obviously, Wales some times don't play him at 10 but that's just because we are a bit thick.

Re: The great Ospreys offload
Hook had his chances at 10 and didn't take them. Hook is world class and is a match winner for Wales, but week to week in the Magners he was sloppy and not playing to the standard expected.
I agree though all the players who have gone were for the best. Hook was throwing hissy fits because he wasnt 10.
Phillips was sulking and not performing.
Bryne was causing no end of problems.
Jerry Collins had stopped pushing himself and was becoming a liability, he was giving away far too many penalties.
The Ospreys look younger, and have much more energy now, and they are winning the fans back with each game. They actually look like a team that are striving to be successful, rather than a group of individuals trying to find form before the international call ups are due.
The seems to be a real team spirit amongst the squad now, something we didnt have in the latter half of last season.

The ospreys were great in the first half tonight - but they would have been much better with Hook. Hook was messed around and IMO dealt with it in a very commendable way. His time has finally come.
