County/State/District all-time XIs.
With all the all-time threads on these boards, I thought it'd be fun for posters to nominate the best all-time First Class XIs of the domestic sides that they support.
Players can be picked for any team they played for (though, obviously, most of the players picked will probably have long associations with the teams they're picked for), and 2 overseas players (no KOLPAKS) will be allowed.
As a Warks fan I'll start off by nominating:
Dennis Amiss
Nick Knight
Rohan Kanhai
Brian Lara
Ian Bell
Dermot Reeve(c)
Geoff Humpage(wk)
Frank Foster
Tom Cartwright
Bob Willis
Eric Hollies
as the all-time best Warwickshire XI.
What's the best XI for your team?

Thought Donald may get in?
I don't support a county so I will have to sit out of this one.

Maybe Ravi instead of Nass.

Warks are short of homegrown class batsmen. They're OK for homegrown bowlers though.
So I used my two overseas player spots to bolster the batting.

For Middlesex from what I've seen:
Andrew Strauss
Justin Langer
Jacques Kallis
Mike Gatting
Mark Ramprakash
Paul Weekes
David Nash (though may be overtaken by Simpson in a few years)
Richard Johnson
Angus Fraser
Steven Finn
Phil Tufnell
I'm sure I've forgotten a few though...

Yeah, did think about him, but I reckon bringing him in in place of Kanhai or Lara would weaken the batting more than brining Donald in would strengthen the bowling, if you know what I mean.
Don't forget we're talking county stats here, not test career. And while Trott's FC stats are good, they're not as good as those of Lara or Kanhai, or even Bell.

Yeah, Surrey would have one of the better teams, I'd have thought. Along with Yorks possibly.

Yorkshire
Hutton
Boycott
Vaughan
Tendulkar
Younis Khan
Bairstow
Bresnan
Hedley Verity
Gough
Sidebottom
Trueman
Gone with 5 bowlers as there is plenty of batting.

Re: County/State/District all-time XIs.
Sussex could have a surprisingly good team:
John Landridge
Ranjitsinjhi
C.B. Fry
Ted Dexter
Duleepsinjhi
Matt Prior(wk)
Tony Greig
Imran Khan(c)
Maurice Tate
John Snow
Mushtaq Ahmed
And that's leaving out players of the quality of David Sheppard, Jim Parks, Garth Le Roux, Alan Melville and Arthur Gilligan

Tendulkar only had one season with Yorks and was pretty ordinary from what I recall.

Boycott
Sutcliffe
Hutton
Vaughan
Lehman
Rhodes
Bairstow (David for now - Jonny will probably surpass him)
Hirst
Gough
Trueman
Verity
Lehman is far and away the best foreign player we have had based on performances for us.
Brian Close, Ray illingworth, Phil Jacques and Jacque Rudolph all get honourable mentions.
