Well as I said this won't run until after I'm finished with final year uni. So start in June/July time. I guess.

What I was thinking of doing was co-running it with someone else being in charge of the matches for the second group.

Mat - I could replace Yorkshire with Worcestershire if you really wanted them as Yorks are only there to make up the number to 12.

seriously though mate, if u need help in running the league i can help.

Mate here is a suggestion.
Since you wont be able to run it until June/July how about letting CF run the first season of this league?You could take charge for the 2nd season.I can help CF run the first season if he wants
Then for the 2nd season you will take charge of your league and myself or CF could help you run it

believe i called dibs on Somerset ages ago when there was the suggestions of different leagues starting

I don't think I'll be taking part in the next one due to work commitments, and out of work commitments leaving me with little time, however I'm happy to oversee it and act as an independent decision maker etc if need be.

Also, here is a suggestion. Rather than people picking their own teams, which will inevitably leave the last few people to pick up the dross, I can hold an independent draw where I put all of your names into one pile, all of the teams into another, and randomly draw pieces of paper (screwed up of course) to see who each of you get. Sounds fair to me.

fists i think that is a fantastic idea.

or you do what football leagues do. at a set time one person posts numbers with teams and numbers, another posts managers and numbers then someone posts two sets of numbers like 2-5 to say which list links up to which team

Well I would want the mighty Sharks....

Rather than the chits which would depend on pure luck I think I have got a better idea which would make the competition fair to all.
All the captains choose whichever team they want and the current squad of that team would be their respective original squads.
BUT
All the captains should be given a certain budget to buy players from the auction.You can retain upto 4 players from your original squad but that amount would be deducted from your auction purse.

What say guys?

no it isnt. Drawing teams out of a hat is fair, and then do an auction afterwards..

shanky all he is saying is, he will pick the teams randomly which is fairer, and then we can do an auction from there.

My suggestion is fairest, and doesn't depend on luck, as you will still have the opportunity to buy and sell your players.

Fists, is picked at random and u can still buy and sell players, i dont think u need an alternate to be honest, because its simple..

Ok here is my reasoning

With Fists allocating the team through chits,there would still be some coaches who get the weaker teams.For example,the person who is lucky and gets Somerset or Surrey will have a class squad readily available whereas an unlucky guy who gets a weaker team will have to build a squad on his own.A person with a weaker squad will struggle to make deals with a person with strong squads.
With my team,all the coaches would have to build the squads on their own.If they have already got a few world class players whom they dont want to lose then they can retain upto 4 but that amount is deducted from their auction purse.So they have to make a decision.

Yh but shanks we could still have the auction, where you all start with the same amount of money and buy players, in the ipl league some teams were weaker but it has worked out well...

It could still work out very well.
I just think my system is fairer as all the teams start on equal footing.

i suppose it could go to a vote...however my prefrence is fists, but i suppose its up to gregers, as he is running the league

cf fair enough if you prefer fists' idea but i would like to know why you rejected my idea.is it just because it is time consuming?that i admit is a bit of a concern surely.but in terms of fairness surely my idea gives a fairer chance to all the teams.

no its not that, shanky, its just that fists idea, is simply easy to do. We just draw the coaches out the hat, and attach to them to a team, its simple, we give all teams same budget, and teams weakness dosent matter, as it was same in ipl.

also why should i be first one to vote. Im not voiting till all tactics are finally in.
