Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys Friday 28/10/11

Hosts Glasgow Warriors have won both their matches against Welsh sides so far this season. Ospreys have won all six opening games of the Rabo Direct Pro 12 season - another win would equal their own record for the best ever start to a season since the tournament went season-long in 2003/04. An Ospreys win would also be their 100th in the history of the tournament. Glasgow have won just one of their last seven encounters with Ospreys which ended 31-23 at Firhill on the 24th October 2010.

Morrison

Normally the Scotsman is a fair and reasonable look at Scottish rugby but this article about Morrison beggars belief.

Are they watching the same Crash ball gym monkey I am or is there another Graeme Morrison that I don't know about? You could say a lot of things about Graeme Morrison but quick feet that put team mates into space is not one of them.

Conditions look perfect at the moment, although they're expecting some rain to possibly come in before FT.

Ospreys in their white away kit. Tommy you'll be pleased to know looks lush Morrison leads out the Glasgae squad

Glasgae have a very good confident start they get a penalty in front of the posts.

Weir kicks it 3 - 0.

Morgan gets the opportunity to kick a penalty for the O's. Nails it!

Glasgow having problems with their scrum this gives Morgan another opportunity to kick for a penalty.

Superb kick. Morgan's got some boot on him.

I hear they haven't stopped selling fecking airhorns at Firhill

Dewey penalised so another opportunity for Morgan to kick a penalty.

3 - 9.

He's a great kicker for a little man

Great break by Weir after a Glasgow scrum, but they lose it and Morgan kicks it down field to safety. Ospreys making too many handling errors though, they need to be careful.

Ospreys win a lineout but poor Webb has a shocker and loses the ball so Glasgow get a scrum, but thankfully weir misses touch, as they all have been tonight. Glasgow on the attack now....they're into the O's 22....but Morrison kicks it on and it's out.

Cussiter having some ankle problems, so they're taping it up by the looks. Hopefully he won't have to come off.

Now do Osprey fans finally see how bad a player Fussell is because I know when it's pointed out on here it usually gets ignored!

ooh bum pass from Webb, but it's hoovered up by Walker. Ospreys not gaining much territory this half though. They've hardly been in the Glasgow 22 so far.

Cussiter still on. Not sure how long he'll last though.

I don't think Fussell is that bad, but he's not having a good time at 15 tonight.

Tommy does a good impression of a fullback there. Glasgow still having all the territory though. Penalty for Glasgow. Weir kicks but it just goes left - hit the post.

Glasgow on the attack again. If they get a try here, they'd deserve it as they've played most of the rugby and have had most of the territory. Glasgow given a penalty and they're opting for the posts.

HT 6 - 12.

Good start from the O's. they're actually making it into the 22 now, but they lose it....have to chase the ball down field, and they're pinned back into their own 22. Glasgow could get a try here...but thankfully it's kicked away.

Lovely stuff from Tommy Seymour, hope he does well at Glasgow.

Some superb rugby from Glasgow, they're back close to the 5 metre line. Ospreys defending very well, but Glasgow still on the attack. They get a penalty. Weir kicks.

9 - 12.

I wish someone would gag the person using the airhorn or take it off them. It's annoying in such a small crowd.

Hibbard on for Davies, and Fotuali on for Webb who didn't have a good first half to be fair.

Glasgow near the 5 metre line again....thankfully turned over by Fotuali who looks quite impressive so far.

Hmmm....looked like Dewey was about to get a yellow there, but the ref changed his mind. Penalty for the Ospreys anyway and they've gone for the corner and lost possession. Weir off with shoe trouble....

awh Morgan goes for a drop goal but it misses. Shocking blydi kick from Fussell to follow that

Ospreys player eyeballed doing a high tackle but the touch judge didn't get the number so the penalty is given against them but no one sent off. Not really sure why the ref didn't see it.

Oh here we go....wouldn't be Ospreys without one of the forwards getting a yellow. Hibbard off for going in the side.

Ospreys in bother now, Glasgow should score here - they're right on the try line. Good O's defence, but they're a man down. Referee gives a penalty which Glasgow attenpt to take quickly but lose possession. Richie Grey stretches for a try, and it's gone to TMO. Looks like it was right on the line. Very close.

Firhill really has hot a good atmosphere tonight. Kids with Richie Gray masks, fantastic.

Glasgow on the rampage - and the O's give away another stupid penalty. Lucky not to get another yellow card there. This is not good...

22 - 12.

Bevington gives away another penalty. Weir fancies his chances from about 50 odd metres....

Done. 25 - 12.

Weir nearly kicked from over 60 metres out against Ulster last season as well.

The one he just kicked was easily 60, as he was 50 out and it went over with a good 10 metres to spare.

Morgan did the same. He kicked from 59 metres and added another 5/6 metres beyond the post.

Other than a few bad kicks straight into touch, I thought the half back combo did well tonight. Jackson will have to work for the 10 jersey.

What's the report from the Edinburgh vs Leinster match?

really rate Duncan Weir. I think he'll be Scotland 10 within a year. I like the idea of a cusiter - Weir Combo for Scotland. In fact my backline would be:
9 Cusiter
10 Weir
12 Lamont
13 Ansbro

For me that would be the sort of backline that can get over the gainline and get things going.

Great win for Glasgow tonight without ever really having to do too much

Just in from the game. Glasgow were not at the races in the first 20 mins or so, but once they hooked Reid after half an hour that shored up the scrum and from there on we were the best team.

Cusiter back is like night and day compared to our other 9s. He helped bring out some good things in Weir, who kicked at goal superbly and had some lovely breaks. Solid in defence unlike his counterpart.

Barclay coming on gave us the push that got us over the gain line and from his introduction there only looked one winner.

Thought young Hogg was very good again at Full Back.
