Czekaj contender for Wales 15? Empty Czekaj contender for Wales 15?

With Priestland our first choice 10, Stoddz injured, Byrne playing shoite & Halfpenny playing both 14 and 15. Do you think Czekaj could have a comeback in the Wales squad as a 15 or on the bench?

I thought I was watching Shane Williams just now for the Blues against Racing Metro. He's looking good!

Cuthbert certainly looks good on the wing, and given Gatlands history and the lack of options, I wouldnt be suprised to see him on the wing in the 6N (against Italy at least)

Czekaj game is a bit limited, but he is an excellent counter-attacker and doesnt have a bad left boot on him.

T.James is having a good start to the season too.

Halfpenny will have pressure on him when he returns, which can only be a good thing.

I can see Cuthbert being called up and wouldnt be surprised to see Czeckaj/James called up either.

Czekaj has all the physical attributes needed, has plenty of skill too, just doesn't seem to have the heart for it, he just needs to sort his head out, maybe his serious injury still plays on his mind when he goes into contact?

That did used to be true - but he is certainly running hard into contact this season.

He's started other seasons like this, could be a flash in the pan for all we know. Just wait and see how he plays leading up to the 6N.

they all have their tails up, with St Shane about to retire and LH the incumbent 15 i expect all Welsh wings know that there is a big chance to join a successful side

Cezkaj takes defensive lessons from Dan Parks personal defence coach...

He did do his old trick a few times of stopping before contact and trying to bump people a few times though.

As a neutal, I aremember thinking last year that Czekaj was reasonable, but patchy and occasionally a defensive liability (which cannot be a feature of any full back). However, in fairness, he's probably in the most consistently good form of his career at present.

Perhaps I don't know enough about the various options available to Wales, but I don't understand why you'd rather have anyone other than Halfpenny at full back these days. He's a complete footballer and a great strike runner.

I think you are right about Halfpenny he looks surprisingly accustomed to fullback, but we need strength and we need depth if we are to compete with teams like the All Blacks who can find three very good players to fill almost every position bar the front row.

Its great to have Halfpenny, also to have Byrne as an ageing but experienced player, who when on form is a world best.

But we need other options, here are a few I think are worthwhile ahead of Chris Cezkaj, Steffan Jones, Liam Williams and Martyn Thomas.

No. He's a reasonable club / regional player, never international standard.

I think Fish and Prydie are the future challengers for Halfpenny. Its good to have Byrne around espescially if he finds some form in France. We also have Tovey and Hook who can fill in at 15. Czekaj Is probably the 3rd or even 4th best fullback in the blues.
