Okay guys and gals - thought I would offer up a bit of fun.

If you were constructing a starting 11 where you could pick your crop of players, who would you pick and why.

For the basis of this and to make it more interesting, you are only allowed 1 person from each team and have to go with a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 formation.

I think the key is to first pick the best players who don't playfor a top team (using the term in a loose sense - meaning top 6 of man u arsenal chelsea spurs city and liverpool) and then to fill in the blanks.

So
Zamora - Fulham.
Cahill - Bolton
Baines - Everton
Parker - west ham
Young - Aston Villa

These are my five from the "smaller" teams. I have deliberately gone for only one striker as I want to leave at least one berth open (Bent and Gyan are worth a shot otherwise)

Positions to fill in (going 4-4-2: GK, RB, CBx1, CMx1, Winger x1, CFx1.

Going to go for: Cech, Johnson, Vidic, Fabregas, Bale, Tevez.

And hey presto we have a team:

having just looked through the others teams more closely there seem to be some popular picks: Baines creeps into most teams, as do Parker and Young and even Cahill from the "lower" teams, while Vidic Bale and Tevez also seem popular choices...
