This is taken from Gareth A Davies from the guardian who is pretty hot on MMA breaking news.
...........................................................

After defeating fellow TUF coach Jason "Mayhem" Miller on Saturday night at the TUF 14 finale in Las Vegas, Mike Bisping's next fight has been confirmed against Demian Maia at UFC on Fox 2 on January 28 in Chicago, Illinois.

The card will feature two other huge fights – Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis and Chael Sonnen vs. Mark Munoz.

It means Bisping will fight for the second time in a span of eight weeks. That can only be good for Bisping, although it appears that a medical suspension may preclude the British fighter from sparring until early January. (Update: medical suspension from contact training until Dec 25).

On Tuesday, Bisping (22-3) had announced on Twitter that he was travelling to Chicago, fuelling rumours that he would be announcing his participation on the UFC card.

In his last fight, Maia (15-3) earned a unanimous decision over Jorge Santiago at UFC 136 on Oct. 8. Maia previously challenged for the UFC middleweight title, losing to Anderson Silva via unanimous decision in one of Silva's most bizarre performances at UFC 112.

On the Jan 28 card, former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans meets Phil Davis in the night's headline event, while middleweights Chael Sonnen and Mark Munoz face off in the co-main event.

With Maia being a former title challenger, it is reasonable to expect that Bisping will be offered a shot at the middleweight belt if he wins. But it may come down to the nature of his performance.

With Silva sidelined until the early summer through injury, and with Sonnen and Munoz fighting on the same card – with the winner of that match was expected to be the No 1 contender – Bisping may have to fight twice to get the much sought-after title shot with the brilliant Brazilian.

The event will be UFC's second outing on network television, following the Cain Velasquez v Junior Dos Santos UFC heavyweight title showdown last month.
In Toronto, the build-up begins today for Jon Jones' second defence of the UFC light-heavyweight title.

Jones, Fighters Only World MMA Awards 'Fighter of the Year 2011' recipient last week, has demonstrated another dimension of his game in recent times, winning 2 of his last 3 fights by submission.

Overall, Jones has won 5 straight contests, all by stoppage, since suffering his sole career loss (via disqualification) in December 2009, to Matt Hamill.

Jones defeated Rampage Jackson in his first UFC title defense, becoming just the second fighter to ever submit Jackson after Kazushi Sakuraba on Jackson's PRIDE debut in 2001.

Jones was also the first man to knock out Shogun Rua, to take the title.

Machida is coming off a win over Randy Couture, also in Toronto, en route to a TKO victory. Machida is stepping in for Rashad Evans, who has a thumb injury.

GSP could be out for 10 months

It emerged on Wednesday that Georges St Pierre has an ACL injury, and could be out for 10 months. It is believed that Carlos Condit will now step in and face Nick Diaz for the interim UFC welterweight title
