Cian Healy........ Empty Cian Healy........

Post by Chunky Norwich Sat 25 Feb 2012, 1:53 pm

Just got munched in the scrum by the 2nd choice Italy tighthead, then tackles an Italian with his head in the hip.

He's got to be the most overrated prop in the Nations.

Every player has strengths and weaknesses. Healy is still one of the best props around and an incredible athlete.

And I am surprised a welsh poster has the audacity to mention the word "overrated" in relation to another teams' players.

Lol spoke too soon Chunky,Healy had a good game and once again has shown an ability to learn from his mistakes.

He struggled in a couple of early scrums but figured out what was wrong and fixed it mid match,he has brains as well as brawn and top class talent, will probably start for the Lions next year unless injury gets in the way.

..can't really add anything to that one!

Reminds me of the time O'Driscoll got knocked out cold and whilst the medics were swarming around him to revive him, he took the time to make a crunching tackle on an opponent player who had the misfortune of trying to pass by the accident area with a ball in his hand.

Thought he had a good game. The tackle he injured himself in was a bit daft, but if you can pick yourself up and play well after a knee to the head, you're a good lad in my book.

That's hysterical. He was abysmal. Contrast to the efforts of Gethin Jenkins.

No doubt I'll be labelled a troll for daring to go against the Irish grain.

Healy didn't have the best of games but playing against the Italians is tough for any front row forward. Silly tackle aside there were no major errors in his play and I'm guessing his subdued loose performance was down to all the hard work he had to do in the many scrums. He's a classy loosehead that had a tough day, abysmal is a bit strong.

Chunky, you're just being silly. 'Abysmal' is far too strong a word and you know that. I would expect both Jenkins and Healy to be included in the Lions party next year, with Jenkins the likely test starter OK

Healy will be a lion, not sure if he'll make the next test team, but he will make the squad. And at the age of what 24/25 he'll be in his prime for the tour after!!!

He's never going to be a destructive scrummager, but people said the same about Geth a few years ago, Scrummaging ability takes a lot longer, but if you have the work rate and rest of the game to work from you've made a great start and laid the foundation.
