What could have been...
This 6 Nations has nearly turned into a one horse race despite many expecting a closer fought tournament where no one team took the lead. However, looking back over the last month, it could be argued that this years 6 nations HAS been a very closely fought tournament and that the table does not reflect the true nature of the games. Here's the table as it stands now...
Wales - 6 (surely to be 8 after playing Italy)
France - 5
England - 4
Ireland - 3
Scotland - 0
Italy - 0
Now had Ireland won at home against Wales, Scotland won at home against England and England tied with Wales, here is what the table would look like now...
France - 5
Ireland - 5
England - 3
Wales - 3 (surely to be 5 after playing Italy)
Scotland - 2
Italy - 0
If France then lost to England, Scotland beat Ireland and Wales beat Italy, we would have been left with this before the final weekend...
Wales - 5
France - 5
England - 5
Ireland - 5
Scotland - 4
Italy - 0
Obviously this did not happen. But I thought I'd just point out how close we might been to one of the most exciting finishes to a 6 nations tournament ever! Good Luck Wales, I think you can go all the way... again!!

Thanks for the wishes of luck. I can only hope that you are not subject to tedious internet slurs from England fans for even suggesting a 'could have'; because we know if somebody Welsh was to post this then all Wales fans would be dismissed as arrogant, bitter, deluded, back-stabbers, etc.

Its the nature of the beast bsando. Some you win some you lose. I have no complaints with the current standings as they are now myself and honestly believe that it is a correct representation

You do know that a butterfly flapping its wings over Tokyo was responsible for the Welsh victory over Ireland - that started off the whole thing in the first place.
The butterfly has now a contract out on it's life................... if it lives that long.

If only last weeks winning lottery numbers were the same as mine I wouldn't be reading this thread. It wa close , on average only 24 points in it.
I can see your point, but so far Wales have been by far the best team and if anything should have been out of sight against England.
I think I'd like to have seen Wales play in Paris as that would have been a good test. It'll be tough at home, but we need away wins.
Italy first...

I'm afraid Maesteg's Stats thread contradicts that assessment. It's more of a confirmation that it's been a pretty loppy 6N with honours handed out all over the place on 'best' - but leaving only one team left that can take the Slam. Wales are certainly pleasing on the eye though - rugbywise!! So they pick up that stat anyway.

With the league/HC scoring system:
Wales - 12
France - 10
England - 9
Ireland - 8
Scotland - 2
Italy - 1
Wales - 12
France - 10
England - 9
Ireland - 8
Scotland - 2
Italy - 1

Re: What could have been...
I knew there was a way that a Welsh team could win the HC.
...............Just enter the 6N.
