The IW Final - Federer v Isner

So my predictions - and others too - have been turned on their heads and we have a final few would have forecast. Isner did wonderfully well to pip Djoko and Fed's on a roll. Rog is favourite, but Isner did beat him in the DC on Swiss soil - well clay, actually - so won't be short of confidence.
Wonder when the top two in the rankings BOTH went out in the semis of a big event ?. The season is getting more and more interesting. Thoughts on today's final ?

John Isner does seem unflappable but can he produce a similar-type performance against Roger Federer in back-to-back matches? I am not so sure to be honest. I take Federer to win in two sets but here is hoping it is a great match.

Yesterday Isner saved his best shots for the crucial points. If he does that tonight he'll have a good chance. Even if he misses his first serve, Roj will have his hands full with that insane high bouncing second serve. On the other hand, i can't see Isner breaking Roj' serve.
I think this match is about the mini breaks..

Huh! no ones interested in the final! There are much more interesting things to talk about...

Isner had a very good gameplan yesterday. It was refreshing to see him pulling out all the right shots, wrong-footing the #1 repeatedly. He moves very well for having such a "big" frame and willing to try everything. Fully deserves the win.

But I think his DC win over roger could actually be a bad omen given roger's current streak. The GOAT is out to avenge his losses from now on. He doesn't just play for fun. He wants to settle some scores. Look what he's done to Delpo and Tsonga after they only beat him once. I think he cherishes today's chance to avenge his DC loss. When roger's in that mood, he's hard to stop, we saw that yesterday.

Fed will cruise, I'm 100% sure.

If Isner serves like yesterday, he's got a real chance - might all come down to the tie-breaks, like it did in the semi.

Why not? Will Fed return better than Djoko did, do you think?
Or do you think Isner won't serve as well?

If Isner holds his nerve and Roger drops his form and serve, only then I expect an upset.

I agree with the revenge thought. Fed will want to set the record straight.
