Post by ADMIN Wed 30 Mar 2011, 10:22 am

Does anyone here play an online game known as Minecraft and if so is it any good?

I’ve heard about on t’interweb and am intrigued but thought it best to find out from those who’ve actually played it.

Hero.

I haven't actually played it mate but i was seriously looking into it, it looks fantastic and i have seen plenty of videos, one of them even had it's very own Pokemon battle arena!

I can't comment completely cos i haven't played it myself but i hope that helped you a bit.

Cheers Miky, I've been reading through the wiki stuff on it and it sounds simple yet complex at the same time, one of them that you can easily lose yourself in.

I have seen some fantastic servers and stuff for it, looks brilliant.

I am seriously considering getting it, if you get it let me know we can maybe make our own server who knows!

I went and got it.

I spent a couple of hours last night running around like an idiot attacking chickens and other animals wondering what to do.
Then night came and stuff killed me.
A lot.
I then thought it was best to watch a tutorial.
I left it at 2am with my guy in a cave he'd hollowed out, a little window to the outside world and torches lighting it up. Made a little work bench and got pickaxes, shovels and swords on the go, killed a couple of spiders and one creeper though I tend to block myself in at night.

I've watched quite alot of Minecraft on YouTube and it does look very fun. I would get it but I doubt my laptop would be able to run it properly.

It looks like something off a Spectrum.
It plays like something off a Spectrum.
Yet tonight I will probably be up till 2am digging for random stuff on it.

If you cannot run it on your PC Jack then you must have a calculator, it surely cannot need much power.

I don't even know the specifications for which the game needs to run properly. If it fits in with my PC's specs then I might make a purchase in the summer when University finishes.

First few times I played it I was awful, probably spent about 15 hours on it in total.

I lost a couple of houses like that Miky, now I spawn near one of my main houses which is useful.

Found this on youtube which is genius:

If there's anyone who wants to play on a Demo before buying it then you can download one here: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/04/19/download-the-minecraft-demo/

Those who have bought it what do you think of the game?
