Betting on Wrestlemania

I'm not sure whether this has already been posted but Paddy Power are taking bets on the major matches at WM.

John Cena is 8-11 while The Rock is EVENS for their match.

I am so tempted to lump on Cena. I use to work in the betting industry and I have never known a bookmakers to be so stupid in offering odds on wrestling.

I know, it's very suprising that a bookmakers would take a huge risk in offering odds on wrestling. They could get stung quite bad.

I'd like to know what they make of DQ's or screwy finishes though!

It says bets are settled as win only and draws will be classed as a losing bet.

They will be getting the official result from WWE.COM on the Monday, so if say Daniel Bryan wins via DQ he will be classed as a winning bet I would imagine.

I've got a feeling they will stop taking bets by Saturday evening.

Well I'll definitely be piling on.

Orton over Kane
Team Johnny over Team Teddy
Taker over HHH
Punk over Y2J
Cena over The Rock

I think Big Show will win though. Just because he has been mocked for never going over at Mania, it just seems like they're setting it up for him to win one!

Triple H is 5/1 to end the streak. Taker is 1/10 on to win.

If i had A LOT of money i would be lumping it on an Orton/Cena double.

The Hell in a Cell match offers the least value for me. For the people backing Triple H that is a class price.

It won't let me do accumulators or doubles on my iphone app, i hope i can do it on a regular pc!

Just checked and you cannot do multiples which is a shame.

I have been 100% confident all year that Cena would win this, but when it comes to putting money on it that confidence has diminished a fair bit.

I'd bet on Cena, Orton, Taker, Big Show, Sheamus, Punk.

a fiver on each match only gets you £42 from a £30 stake.

Im betting big on the only cert of the night. £150 on Cena for a £259 return.

I'm thinking of putting £220 on Cena.

I'm not confident enough that the WWE won't have a cop out ending where someone wins by DQ to put a substantial amount on it.

It's a shame you can't accumulate that would have been my choice.

So every winner is someone you would class as a face? i think at least one heel is going to win one, the most likely being cody rhodes or daniel bryan and as i can't see the royal rumble winner not winning at mania yet again

Sh!t im trying to give up on the gambling thing for a while but holy cow seeing as its payday friday a few hundred on cena to win, if a wrestler wins by a countout or dq is that still a winning bet?

I wouldnt be suprised if it went either way. I certainly wouldnt bet on it.

A countout or DQ still defines a winner and a loser so the bet should be ok

How do you define a semi pro gambler

Half of my current income comes from football betting/trading. The other half from the day job. A typical betting week is anything between 12 and 30 hours depending on whether the matches meet my criteria.

You're a hero for finding this. I honestly don't see why Cena is considered a certainty. I'd really like to know how Paddy priced this up. It's not like you can really take form into account

Sky bet are doing it as well, you have more options on it, like you can do a double etc and bet on the 6 man tag match as well as the divas match also,

How can this be legit? Whats stopping one of the wrestlers or another insider telling their mates to put a whopping bet on a guarenteed outcome?

I no. Sheamus could tell his entire family what the outcome of his match will be and they could rinse Paddy Power.

No. You have have to spend money before you get the free bets. And free bet stakes are not returned on any winners.

Triple H has gone from 5/1 to 4/1 so they must have took a few big bets on him to win.
