Chatbox for The Masters

The other admins asked be to try to gauge the level of interest here for turning the forum chatbox on during Masters coverage.

I know many people would prefer to sit with feet up in front of the TV to get the best out of the coverage but I suspect some people may be online while watching. Do we hve enough people interested in turning the chat box on during coverage?

I asked at the weekend while the chatbox was on for some football games - there were a couple of people who admitted to liking golf though not regulars here in the golf section - a couple expressed interest in having chat while watching.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like a plan to me. Beer. Golf. And the potential to abuse Mac live... What could be more entertaining!?

OK if we get any more takers I'm sure we can get the chat switched on. If I'm not around then YI Man can usually be persuaded to switch it on, though I hope to be around myself on Thursday and Friday evenings. May miss the start of the coverage though

What is a chat box? I thought that this was one?

Davie, i'd def be interested for during work hours!

I might pop on, do like the old Masters.

Should be able to switch it on Thursday if needs be as it starts just as i wander in drunk from Pool.

Mac - this is a forum, so while it is interactive to a degree, the interaction isn't "real time"

The forum has the capability to switch on and off a real time chatroom. You don't need to register again - it uses your forum credentials, but you get to "chat" in real time with other chatroom members

When it is switched on, it appears on the forum front page at the top - or you can "undock" it so it appears in its own separate window.

MPB - it's unlikely to be on during working hours. Only during "live" TV coverage. Unless you work unusual working hours

I could probably be tempted to join in whilst watching the tv coverage, especially if there is some banter going on!

I'm up for it but only if Mac joins in as his comments will no doubt be priceless!! :run1:

Hopefully the chat box will be open this evening when the TV coverage starts. If it's not on when I get in from work I'll switch it on but with luck someone will have it on by then

If it helps Davie I had no gear with which to disperse the crowds effectively.

I am now growing Bhut Jolokia, Dorset Naga, Paper Lantern and Aji Crystal Chillies at home. I intend to eat about half of them and create a weaponised spray from the rest which I can use at times like that.

How stacked is the leaderboard @ the Masters after 2nd round? This is another thing that i like about the Masters, so-so type players rarely win @ the Masters

But point taken, this year's leaderboard is fantastic.

I really think McIlroy shoul be ashamed. I'm not a champion golfer, but what Rory produced is not a world golfer worthy.

17 top tens in a majors between those three players and 21 wins on the pga tour & European tour, not exactly shabby. You only have to see what players on tour say about these players's games. These are not so-so or average players.
