Rockets/landing craft to the moon, probes into the far reaches of outer space. I really like that exploration mentality...regardless of cost.

If it wasn't for Americans...we'd never see those amazingly detailed pictures of distant planets and moons. Also - human scale pot holes, ravines and rocks on Mars. Fantastic achievements.

American Rounders is the only saving grace for cricket. Makes it look exciting by comparison.

Nah, as much as I love baseball, I have to say hockey's better, though I think the Canadians would argue that it's actually their sport.

I saw some lacrosse the other day...is that big in the US and Canada?

To me it had elements of field hockey, hurling and football...and ice hockey the way they can sneak around the goal and turn the keeper around in circles.

If you're actually into American Rounders gibbo (the english actually invented it and called it baseball) cricket is total gobshite by comparison imo. Not really interested in lacrosse linebreaker, but it is actually a Canadian game taken from an ancient sport played by native Indians. There are two versions of it- Field (outdoor) and the more popular Box (indoor) it's not as popular as the biggest 4 sports in North America, as far as I can see I don't think it's anywhere near as popular as association football either.
